It’s an easy thing to do: equate our own preferences with spiritual maturity. When we see someone who reads the same translation of the Bible as us, worships expressively, or prays with confidence and passion, we can assume that they are spiritually solid.

On the flipside, we can decide that someone else isn’t as spiritual because they worship God in ways we can’t relate to in the slightest.

But these are all just human behaviors – not actual spiritual maturity. God in his wisdom moves past outward expressions and looks inward at the heart. Don’t lose the plot! by @brancheshb

The power is when our very real emotions are faced with the very real transforming power of God.
