But healing has a way of bringing your real personality back.

The person who just genuinely enjoys people again.

And honestly… that’s when the best connections happen.

Because the right people were never looking for perfect.

Anyone else really good at making plans and not nearly as good at sticking to them? 😂

Because SAME.

I’m learning that sometimes the best routine isn’t the prettiest or most organized one. It’s the one that actually works with your life.

I’m about a week into my 30 day journey with Yellowday, and one thing I’m really enjoying is having something that encourages me to be more intentional about my mornings and evenings.

And here’s something that has genuinely made a difference in how I feel about sticking with it.

I’ve tried supplements in the past that made me feel sick, so I was a little nervous about starting something new. I haven’t had that experience with Yellowday, and that’s made me actually look forward to my routine instead of dreading it.

There’s something about experiencing the magic of childhood through your kids’ eyes. 🥹🎃

And floating down the Provo River at night, surrounded by glowing pumpkins, with a pirate as your guide? That’s a pretty fun way to make a memory.

We took the kids on the Halloween Cruise with @clasropes and got to see over 100 uniquely carved pumpkins lighting up the river. 🏴‍☠️ And as a bonus there’s hot chocolate and @thebreadandboardco had the yummiest cookies waiting for us.

It was one of those simple family adventures where everyone had fun, nobody wanted it to end, and the kids were already asking when we could come back.

Spoiler: They’re counting down to the Christmas Cruise now. 😂❤️

Adult friendship is something I don’t think we talk about enough.

Some of the deepest love, biggest laughs, hardest lessons and most important seasons of my life have come through friendship. And so has some of the deepest hurt.

I’ve had friendships that lasted. Friendships that changed. Friendships I fought for. Friendships I had to learn to hold differently. And friendships I can still be incredibly grateful for even if they don’t look the way they once did.

I wish I could say I’ve figured out how to navigate all of that gracefully. I haven’t. 😂

I still replay things sometimes. I still wish I understood certain things differently. I still have moments where something I thought I had made peace with hurts again.

But I’m learning that healing doesn’t always come with an explanation, an apology, or the ending you would have chosen.

Sometimes it’s simply learning to let the good be good, the hard be hard, and accepting that both can belong to the same story.

And maybe that’s one of the strangest parts of growing up. Some people stay beside us. Some people change us and then become part of who we used to be.

Both can matter. 🤎

We got to live in a dream with @micosmicrofarm having lunch and learning more about all the amazing things that make Micos what it is today.

I never thought I’d find greens I wouldn’t just tolerate but actually enjoy. It’s been a complete transformation for my family and we are absolutely obsessed.

One of the best events of the year, with some of the most important people in my world. 🤍

But my favorite part was getting to watch my boy do something he wanted to do. Something we never once told him he had to do.

My kids will be raised with standards and values that I’m incredibly grateful I was taught. They’ll know what we believe and why it matters so much to us. But they will also know that their faith, their choices, and their relationship with God belong to them.

I never want something good to become a weapon. I never want love to feel conditional on believing, choosing, or living exactly the way I do.

I’ve watched people I love be deeply hurt by something that has brought so much goodness into my own life. I can hold both of those truths at the same time. I can be incredibly grateful for my faith while also having compassion for someone whose experience has looked very different from mine.

I am so thankful @churchofjesuschrist is part of my life. My life is better because of it, and I hope my children find the same kind of peace, purpose, and joy in it that I have.

But I also know that goodness isn’t exclusive to people who believe what I believe.

Some of the people I love most live very differently than I do. We believe different things. We make different choices. And I’m so thankful there is room in my life for all of them.

This world is beautiful and hard and complicated enough.

I hope my kids always know they can come home to a place where faith is taught, agency is honored, questions are safe, and love is never something they have to earn. 🤍 and I hope you know this is a safe place for whatever you do or don’t believe. by @brandi.marble
