The future of conservation isn’t only scientific. It’s cultural.

REEFLINE is a public underwater sculpture park and hybrid reef 800ft off the shore of Miami Beach harnessing the power of the arts to reconnect people with the ocean. By bringing together a cross-disciplinary community of innovators around a shared belief—that humans can work with nature, and not against it—we’re creating living infrastructure that enhances marine ecosystems, while rewilding imagination and inviting everyone to learn, participate, and become part of the solution.

REEFLINE is amphibious by design. We move between land and sea, occasionally coming out of the water to make the invisible visible: a bridge between people and the ocean, reimagining what art, science, and cities can achieve together.

Thank you @artnews @bbrianbboucher
The once-flourishing Florida Reef Tract is the world’s third-largest reef system, but it has been decimated by urban expansion and ecological degradation. Ximena Caminos’ Florida eco-art nonprofit, “Reefline,” is hoping to change that. In several phases, the organization will create a seven-mile-long hybrid sculpture/coral reef stretching along the length of Miami Beach, and hopes to spur other artists, curators, and municipalities to collaborate on other climate-forward art projects.

The project’s first sculptural reefs come in the form of one of Miami’s notorious traffic jams. Concrete Coral, by Argentinian artist Leandro Erlich, consists of twenty-two concrete cars on the ocean floor, each with a hundred threaded holes in their surfaces made to fit tiny concrete pots that will eventually hold some 2,200 corals.

“In line with the idea that the planet requires actions to restore balance, ‘Concrete Coral’ seeks to positively convey that it is possible to recover and repair compromised environmental situations,” wrote Erlich. “The same ingenuity that has allowed us to develop marvelous inventions and the extraordinary capacity for innovation that now enables us to explore the vastness of the cosmos can also be applied to finding solutions for our planet.”

THE FUTURE OF THE OCEANS IS AT PLAY 🌊⚽

And it’s in our hands.

Miami can host the game and it can also help change it.

At BIG GOALS, we bring our mission from the ocean to shore, using the universal language of football to imagine something bigger.

A future where art, sport, science, and community come together to protect what makes life possible.

Every beach.
Every goal.
Every moment of play.

An opportunity to care.
An opportunity to act.
An opportunity to dream bigger.

Because if football can unite billions of people around a game, imagine what we can achieve if we unite around protecting our planet.

Every goal can become a bigger goal.

Join Team Ocean, Join friends of @thereefline .

Because protecting our planet is the biggest goal of all.

Deep gratitude to the FIFA World Cup 2026™️ Miami Host Committee for sponsoring this project as part of its ONE GAME, ONE PASSION legacy programming, and to the City of Miami Beach, Miami-Dade County, Uber, PLAYLAB, the artists, and all of our partners for making this vision possible.

* A @fwc26miami @onegame.onepassion Legacy Project :
The installation brings our mission from beneath the waves onto the beach, using the universal language of soccer to connect people to the sea. At its center are two monumental sculptural goals designed by @playlabinc with hand-crocheted nets produced by @jessicatrosman and @emilianomiliyo, woven with constellations that remind us that while the game spans continents, we all share the same sky and the same ocean.

We are honored to share that REEFLINE has been selected by TIME Magazine as one of the World’s Greatest Places of 2026.

This recognition reflects the extraordinary vision of our founder @xcaminos that brings together art, science, and ocean conservation to create a new kind of cultural and ecological destination in Miami Beach.

We are deeply grateful to the City of Miami Beach @miamibeachnews for its incredible leadership and commitment to innovation, resilience, and public art in our ocean.

Most importantly, we thank our community, partners, artists, scientists, and supporters who believed in this idea from the beginning. Your belief helped transform a bold concept into a global model for how culture and nature can work together.
REEFLINE was always envisioned as more than an installation—it is a living reef, a public artwork, and a new way of connecting people to the ocean.

This recognition belongs to everyone helping bring REEFLINE to life. by @brandiredd
