With over 200 sounds, this 🆓 collection builds upon a curated selection of iconic and widely recognized sounds, meticulously restored, remastered, reimagined, and expanded into a versatile, polished toolkit. Each sound in the ♻️ ⓀⒾⓉ has been extracted from the highest quality sources available, snipped directly from their original contexts to ensure impeccable resolution. Declipped, declicked, phase-aligned, and spectrally repaired, these sounds have undergone meticulous deconstruction and restoration, eliminating unwanted noise and interference to reveal their most desirable, optimal form. Competing elements such as hi-hats, vocals, and other percussion have been surgically removed through phase inversion techniques, leaving behind a clear, isolated sonic identity. Text Chunk is a Canadian music producer, sound designer, engineer, DJ, and label founder based in Edmonton, Alberta. his work sits at the intersection of breakbeat futurism and emotional abstraction, drawing from footwork, jungle, IDM, ambient, and vaporwave without falling into the trappings of genre fidelity. his tracks have been championed by the likes of Hudson Mohawke, Modeselektor, and Skee Mask, earning underground acclaim despite minimal press and no conventional touring footprint. a self-taught artist raised on Soulseek, LimeWire, and the Warp Records catalog, Smith began producing as a teenager. a chance discovery of @svenk666 ’s soundcloud demos revealed not just a kindred spirit but a neighbor, and together with Carter Booth, the trio launched Kudatah, an Edmonton-based label that has since cultivated a global network of forward-thinking electronic artists. Where its predecessor established a foundation, this sophomore volume refracts movement into focused modules: techno’s pulse, footwork’s stutter, jungle’s momentum, and Baltimore club’s sub-heavy drive, each element refined to its essential character. Built on relentless iteration, freak:zones (ii) reflects Smith’s internet‑native ethos, not as style but as system. Influenced by algorithmic rabbit holes, upload‑channel detours, and Soulseek‑era peer exchange, the album doesn’t quote these sources; it recalibrates them into raw circuitry, deploying deep‑cut fragments as functional components rather than nostalgic echoes. Each track arrives with intent, a precise articulation of form, not pastiche but invention driven by evolving curiosity. “Kick32” opens with a seismic sub‑boosted Spinz 808 bassline that feels both primordial and freshly unearthed. Sparse ambient chords hover beneath the kick, their muted reverb introducing a quiet melancholy that tempers the raw intensity with emotional precision. “Testmode Entry”, a focused hardware study with Angel Science and Sven K, pairs noisy, modified Yamaha FB‑01 tones with taut 909 rhythms. Feedback‑inflected percussion and delayed synth motifs create a precise counterpoint, while tresillo‑inspired snares pulse beneath the surface. “Bang Perc Trak” navigates Baltimore/Jersey club terrain with merciless precision. Chopped “Think” breaks puncture the mix; a clipped “bang” sample snaps over dense, murky low‑end sub‑patterns as percolator nods flicker then recede. Throughout, collaboration is not deviation but extension, Sven K, Angelscience, and Hood Joplin act as embedded co‑architects rather than featured guests, their contributions seamlessly reinforcing the album’s singular logic.
