Hi y’all. 10 years of Braxton Guitars today. It’s tough to put how it all makes me feel into a few sentences, but I will. Many hours and many failures…and a few successful days to kick the losses in the ass. My boys. Mom and Dad. Friends and customers (who are now friends) and my neighbors at Bok who are like extended family. You are all the real reason why this place is what it is, and you are a part of my identity. My Lisa, who never gives up on me even on the toughest days, and makes sure I don’t either, is my reason to never quit, and the one who reminds me that life is beautiful, because she makes it that way. Thank you @scoutltd — Lindsey, Liz, Lily, Kristen, and so many more — for taking a chance on me many moons ago and for keeping me afloat during the hard times. Learning this craft has taken me around the world, but there is no place like home. Braxton & Hyde Philadelphia Fretworks baby. Get some. Six strings — and then some — to save the world. Hey y’all — it’s tour time (again)! Appointments and current jobs will be on hold until we return. Catch Kyle w/ Alex G and Andy w/ Turnstile if you’re out there. AND…New R.Hyde basses are about to be unleashed! Holler at us always 🎸🏴‍☠️🎸 by @braxtonandhyde
1949 J45 PATCH + BRIDGE Yes we’re alive, and yes we’ve worked on some fun ones this year, so we’re gonna share ‘em! This J45 held up surprisingly well despite having an LG-style bridge on it for…well, we don’t know how long. The owner is a real player (and he likes his .13s) so we went all in. Spruce patch for the top + new Brazilian rosewood bridge. There was some debate on how much to over-size the new bridge, if at all, since the footprint was all over the place. Since we were all a fan of its wear-and-tear, we didn’t really beef it up. But we did some tint and shellac to blend it back. Swipe to hear some sounds. …yes we forgot to take the wax paper out before the main pic but it looked great 🎸🎸🎸 @andybree_ by @braxtonandhyde
Earlier this year, in February, we had the privilege to welcome Glen Hansard to the shop. He was recording with Charlie Hall in Conshohocken. During the process, this 1970 Barney Kessell came into possession, and it ended up here. We learned Glen usually likes flatwound 12s. We decided on 11s since there was some work to be done on the guitar beyond the scope of a setup. But man…did this bad boy still project and play great. We didn’t get any pictures with Glen, but we do have this. What an unbelievably down to earth dude he was…it’s crazy to think that he crossed the threshold into the shop, even for a moment. Thank you, Charlie, for the chance to meet such a legend, and to let us send a guitar off with him as well. RIP Glen Hansard, legend 🎸💙🎸 by @braxtonandhyde
HBD to our Resident Funnyman, Mr. Kyle 🏴‍☠️🎸🏴‍☠️ …need we share more pics? Catch our boy out w/ J Brekkie AND Alex G this year — we’ll get him back in the shop when we can…love ya boul. We hope everyone is having a very good summer. We’ll have some updates for you come August. Don’t worry we are alive. Lots of guitars to fix when tour slows down! Until then wish our guy a happy bday! 📷: @gandolfophoto by @braxtonandhyde

Hi y’all! Just saying hello. We are good. Working away. Some shop updates: CALENDAR & WAITLIST • Online Self-Booking Calendar will be closed for the rest of 2026. • The Waitlist is ALWAYS OPEN, and that’s the best way to get in the queue for repairs or custom work. EMERGENCY REPAIRS & INQUIRIES • If you have a gig/studio/etc emergency, DM or email us via the website. • If you just have a question…do the same! TOUR & GUITARS IN SHOP • Kyle and Andy will be in and out for the rest of the year. Current dates are posted, more TBD. • Our shop queue will be delayed due to our schedule, but we will be working away when we’re home. That’s it. Swipe to the end for a 1949 J45. New bridge, nut, saddle, fret dress, all that. 13s too. Perfection. We’ll be sure to post all the cool shop and road stuff. Thanks for keep us busy! 🎸🎸🎸 by @braxtonandhyde
Sunday! 3:00pm! It's time for the next episode of Loothing For Dollars! Loothing for Dollars: The Multi-Looth Shop: Braxton & Hyde, Philadelphia Fretworks Throughout our Loothing for Dollars series, we’ve explored the various ways pros in our craft make the business work—from home-based setups and commercial spaces to loothing on the road or in retail. In this month’s episode, we’re diving into a unique, loosely knit cooperative model. Join us as we sit down with Andy Bree, Ryan Hyde, and Kyle Laganella to see how they joined forces to turn their individual career goals into a successful shared lutherie business. These three looths have found a way to bridge their individual needs by joining forces. We'll explore how this unique partnership keeps their loothing careers thriving. This is going to be a fun one! Sunday! April 19, 3pm (eastern time). Only on The Looth Group! @theloothgroup @braxtonandhyde @andybree_ @rhydeguitars @philadelphia_fretworks 🎸 #guitarspecialist #guitarrepair #loothingfordollars #luthier #loothing by @braxtonandhyde
Couple weeks of gettin’ the fam back together. New rigs, new guitars, new looms and a few shows to break ‘em in. @neuraldsp for all my players. Everything sounds awesome. Pro Tip: you can make a Tech Flex loom with one (maybe two) piece[s] of tape. Finishing the last of the shop’s repairs for the next two weeks. If you have a tour or gig emergency, holler at me. Otherwise, see you in the fall 🎸 Thanks to all for keeping our benches busy. @braxtonandhyde is open — hit the waitlist! 📷: @thingamajigirl (1) by @braxtonandhyde
Hey y’all, just some UPDATES: (1 and 2 by accident) Mr. Pono is the new foreman apparently. (3) We simplified the heck out of the website so it’s easy to get in touch with us. (4) Hard to believe, but tour season is around the corner. We’ll be taking y’all in as best we can! (5-9) Some thoughts and cool guitars. Holler at us! by @braxtonandhyde
