This is my author photo.

Had to break the “no murder in the office” rule, but it was worth it.

It was a collaboration with my dear friend, the overwhelmingly talented photographer, @davidmahyardini

Shooting this day was a pinch me moment. Was I... at work? Was he at work? Ridiculously, yes.

It’s not a normal author photo, but then again, why do normal work? Why not play? Why not dare to express-yo-self? taken in New York, New York by @bree_groff

You cannot keep me away from a good nonfiction audiobook. It's an obsession. I'm always looking to learn something new, uplevel my skills, and see the world from a different perspective.

But let's be honest, some nonfiction audiobooks can be rather dry. Listening to this was truly a treat and an experience and YOU should check it out!

Work isn't *supposed* to be drudgery. We get paid to CREATE value. The 'pain' is optional. Make work FUN. It's 100% on the table.

Congratulations to Lavin Exclusive Speaker Bree Groff, whose book, Today Was Fun: A Book About Work, was named one of Kirkus's best indie books of 2025!

For too many of us, workdays are a slog: something we endure just to make it to the weekend. But Bree says it doesn’t have to be this way: “Most work, most days, should be fun!” A workplace culture expert and consultant for companies like Microsoft, Google, and Pfizer, she argues that “in order to like the way we’re spending our lives, we need to like the way we’re spending our weekdays.” Filled with research and anecdotes, Today Was Fun is a honest, funny, and practical roadmap for doing just that.
