There’s a specific kind of chaos that tends to show up every September. 😅

Summer’s (nearly) done, and suddenly we’re all back in go-go-go mode.

Thing is, “back to it” doesn’t have to mean “back to burnt out.”

Our Marketing Assistant Madelin pulled together some words of wisdom from our Page Two authors—real talk on work and productivity to help you find some calm in the proverbial September storm!

Last night was our very first Festa Thursday and our hearts are very full. 🥹💛

Almost 20 of you came out just to grab drinks with John at Conwell Coffee Hall, which, by the way, might be one of the most stunning places we’ve ever turned into a Westie hangout. 👀

Then we headed back to The Platform for a class all about blues connection - with plenty of experimenting, questions, and a lot of laughing along the way.

We started Festa Thursdays because we wanted more space for exactly this: learning from people who have shaped this dance, but also actually getting to know them. Sitting around a table together. Hearing stories. Laughing. Dancing. Being a community beyond just the hour we’re in class.

Thank you to everyone who came and made our first one feel so lovely, and, of course, to @johnnylingerie for sharing his knowledge, stories, humor, and evening with us. 💛

We’re already very excited for the next one.

Turns out: Festa Thursday is officially a thing. 🥂🕺

From the desk of our author, Karina Mangu-Ward…

“So, I have this philosophy called “follow your jealousy.”

The idea is that when something makes me reallllllly jealous, that’s my brain’s way of highlighting important information for me to pay attention to. A sort of internal pull toward the things I really want (but might not be admitting).

When I was working on #TeamsThatMeetTheMoment, I found myself fostering jealous feelings for a few really great books. Here are a few!

If you have books that spark the good kind of jealous feelings, feel free to drop a few in the comments… I’d love to check them out.”
