For years, I told myself “Maybe later.”

Later, when the kids were older.
Later, when life slowed down.
Later, when I had more time.

I’m honest, it wasn’t just about timing.

Part of it was about fear.

Fear of starting over. Fear of wondering if I was capable. Fear of stepping into a season that required a different version of me.

So… I waited. But somewhere along the way, I realized that the life we’re hoping for rarely arrives while we’re waiting for the perfect moment.

Many of you first met me as a relationship coach , helping women navigate divorce, heartbreak and new beginnings. That season will always be part of my story because it was then when I wrote Black Coffee.

I used to help people navigate one type of relationship.

Today, I help people understand themselves so they can transform every relationship, including the one they have with themselves, the people they lead and the cultures they create.

The heart behind my work hasn’t changed.

My assignment has expanded.

Whether I’m working with individuals, students, or organizations, my goal remains the same: helping people become more intentional about who they are, how they lead and the impact they have on others.

And, because I believe the best educators never stop learning, I am excited to share that I’ve been accepted into the University of Georgia’s Master of Education in Learning, Leadership & Organization Development program.

This next chapter is about expanding my perspective, sharpening my craft and becoming an even better educator, facilitator and leader for people and organizations I’m called to serve.

To everyone who has encouraged me, supported me, hired me, trusted me and grown with me over the years, thank you. Your belief in me has been a gift.

I hope you will continue walking with me through this next chapter. I’ll be sharing the lessons, the challenges, the breakthroughs and everything in between as I continue to grow.

The second half of the year isn’t an invitation to hustle harder.

It’s an invitation to evolve.

Lately, I’ve had to ask myself this same question.

Between my personal goals, building my business, going back to school, and showing up for the people I love, I realized I couldn’t just keep focusing on what I wanted to accomplish. I had to get honest about who I need to become to carry it all well.

Because every new season asks something different of us.

This season is asking:
Who are you willing to become?

The most honest answers usually require a little quiet.

A few days ago, I had the opportunity to attend Pretty Girls Workout, and it reminded me of something.

The life we want isn’t built by one big decision.

It’s built by the small choices we make over and over again.

Choosing to move your body.
Choosing to prioritize your health.
Choosing community.
Choosing consistency.
Choosing yourself.

None of those choices seem life-changing in the moment.

But over time?

They become the life you’re building.

I think we can all agree that sometimes… life just be lifing.

The deadlines.
The responsibilities.
The unanswered prayers.
The unexpected detours.
The growing pains.

It’s easy to become so focused on where you’re trying to go that you forget to appreciate where you are.

So here’s your reminder today:

Find JOY in the journey. 💚

Celebrate the small wins.
Take the walk.
Laugh a little longer.
Rest without guilt.
Be present.
Hug someone.
Tell them you love them.

A few weeks ago, after I spoke at an event, two women pulled me aside and asked me how I learned to communicate confidently and command a room the way I did on stage.

Both shared that they experienced my presence, my voice, and my energy and wanted to learn how to own their gifts, speak up, and show up more confidently.

What many people don’t realize is that speaking up and showing up starts long before you ever step onto a stage.

It begins with the internal work.

It begins with the conversations you have with yourself.

It begins with the stories you believe about who you are.

Confidence is not something you put on.

It’s something you build.

The ability to communicate with confidence, lead with conviction, and own your voice is often the result of learning to trust yourself, challenge limiting beliefs, and evolve beyond the version of yourself that no longer fits.

The truth is, communication is more than what comes out of your mouth.

It’s how you see yourself.

It’s how you think.

It’s how you connect.

It’s how you lead.

And every time you choose growth over fear, clarity over confusion, and evolution over repetition, your voice becomes stronger.

The room doesn’t change.

There is something powerful about a woman who no longer needs permission to be herself. ✨

It shows up in how she speaks.

How she carries herself.

How she enters a room.

How she influences others.

How she navigates challenges and pressure.

How she treats people when no one is watching.

How she smiles.

How she walks.

But most importantly, it shows up in how she leads her life. by @breegordon_

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to serve as a panelist for the Crowned in Confidence Women’s Leadership Conference with Amazon and I’m still reflecting on how meaningful the experience was.

To stand in a room full of women from different walks of life — women leading teams, supporting families, navigating transitions, rebuilding confidence, and simply trying to become more of themselves — was incredibly powerful.

One of the biggest things I shared is that leadership doesn’t begin with a title… it begins with how you lead yourself. Through clarity, confidence, communication, and the courage to keep evolving even when life tries to place you in survival mode.

What touched me most were the conversations after the panel. The women who shared pieces of their story with me. The women who wanted to grow in confidence, communicate more effectively, and use their voice more intentionally. It reminded me that sometimes your purpose is revealed through the impact you leave in a room.
