Whether to be impressed or chagrined that, when housekeeping finally deign to turn up, more than two weeks after you check-in, and proceed to do a less than half-assed job, they seal the deal by drinking your last remaining slug of shitty whisky and then replace it with water rather than simply discarding the evidence? The scoundrel within me is applauding, but the post-sitzprobe nervous wreck is aghast…. by @breenkanen

Sydney friends!
Do any of you happen to have a marching snare drum lying around which I could borrow? Doesn’t need to be fancy, in fact the grubbier and more basic the better! I am in need of such a thing to help the bright, beautiful young performers of Pacific Opera, who will be presenting an excellent selection of scenes from Britten’s masterpiece “Peter Grimes” in a month from now. Any leads or loans gratefully accepted- thank you all!♥️ by @breenkanen

EVERYONE NEEDS a John Longmuir in their life! A dazzling, daring artist, the most precious and true of friends, and the MANLIEST of men when it comes to drilling, dismantling, installing and the transformation of (my) daffy vision into inspiring reality…
We (he) dismantled a built in wardrobe in Xander’s room, and the great big mirrored sliding doors were just too impressive to do away with….
In the space of nary an hour, this most marvellous of men turned up, all smiles, with his lolly legs on full display, and single-handedly GOT THE SHIT DONE!!!! I am in grateful awe of his nouse, his speedy efficiency, his big-hearted generosity, and his unflagging capacity to humour my hopeless self as I barracked from the sidelines, binge drinking nervously.
Our darling Cathy Di Zhang turned up with nourishment for her man, and gorgeous hugs for me, but the hero is Longmuir. More to report on what he achieved this afternoon once I’ve put a lick of glitter on his impressively masculine output.
Swoon…what an absolute LEGEND he is, and how VERY lucky Xander and I feel to have both of these STELLAR humans in our corner xxx by @breenkanen

There are so many ways in which I do not wish to imagine the world right now; this is definitely near the top of my list. Her genius will endure, an astonishing legacy of craft, invention, daring and heart. by @breenkanen
