My sister and I have been at the best quilt retreat these past few days hosted by @cottoncreekmill and have had the time of our life!! I’m sooo sad to see it wrap up today. I had so much fun I signed up for the spring retreat in April and fall in September next year! All the creators here have been so wonderfully welcoming. I did bring a few of my friends with me too. @crimsonconfection made the adorable diamond pouch which I keep my hexies in. @amysewvt made the cute thread catcher and @scissorsinmypocket in my pocket made the scissor pouch. (She has an Etsy shop she sells these in and they are beautifully made!)

Here is the first week of @buttermilkbasin’s #stitchortreatsal and I finished just in time (week 2 instructions comes out tomorrow). I’m using fabrics from my stash. I have got to make an attempt to start using it instead of adding to it. 😂 Plus now that my hubby is retired I can’t hide packages anymore. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 so there’s that. 🙄LOL. What have you been working on? Do tell!!

I finished stitching my #jollytreefarmsal hosted by @fqsxstitch and I love it! I’m deciding how to finish it. Maybe a 12x12 mini quilt or a little pillow to use as a bowl filler. The jury is still out! But this was a fun & fast stitch. I did change the thread for the border because I’ve been dying to use this pink variegated thread and I love it! Now on to the next stitch along!

Editing to add this was also a project joining the #slowsummerstitchalong hosted by @crimsonconfection and @amberleighcrafts. ❤️❤️

I had the absolute privilege of touring a flower garden I’ve long dreamed of visiting. I drive by this beauty frequently and when I saw a local garden club was hosting a tour open to the public I jumped on that bandwagon (along with @rlgb74 and @sarahbeth1964). It was more than I ever imagined! And what was even sweeter was the owner told us to come back any time so I asked if I could bring my hubby as I knew he would love this just as much as I did. She told me to bring him anytime, so we’ll be venturing back soon! This is all my garden goals. Lucky for me I’m retiring soon and I know what will be keeping me busy when I’m not sewing! by @breezylanecreations

Friends… I have to share this! If you have a busy weeknight this dish cooks up super fast and the flavor is over the top!

I lb hamburger
1 small onion diced
2 cloves garlic minced
Salt & pepper to taste
1/4 cup red wine (I used Cabernet)
1 jar Raos marinara sauce
1 box Boursin garlic & herb cheese
Fresh basil to taste (I have basil from my garden that I froze with olive oil in ice cub trays and used two cubes)
Angel hair pasta
Fresh Parmesan cheese

Sauté onion & garlic. Add hamburger and brown. Once browned add your salt & pepper and wine. Cook until wine has evaporated then add the marinara sauce and cook until heated through. Then add basil(if using the frozen cubes like I did, otherwise add at the end of cooking) and Boursin cheese. Heat until melted. Cook your pasta while getting your sauce ready. Fix your plate and top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Enjoy!

Tip: I kept those four packs of Sutter House wines in my pantry. White wine for poultry and red for beef. They come in super handy!

PS I am not a chef. I am a busy gal who likes to dig through her pantry and come up with quick and tasty dishes. So you can take this or leave it, but it sure was tasty and will definitely be going in the menu rotation!

Spent a lot of time out here today pulling weeds and tending to my flowers. The CanadaMinnesota wildfires have graced us with poor air quality so I came outside in short bursts. You can see the haze in the photo. I’m very anxious for more of my snapdragons to bloom!

I finished week 2 of the #jollytreefarmsal by @fqsxstitch on Monday evening at our monthly stitch group (I love those ladies!!). My green beans are in the canner, so while I wait for them to process, I’m going to start week 3. This has been such a fun stitch along! When I saw this #heirloombloomsblock by @brownhausstitchery I immediately fell in love! I wanted to make a red white and blue wall hanging for the season and I’m beyond thrilled with how this came out. It’s fun so see how the blocks turn out depending on your fabric choices. (her pink ones make my pink loving heart swoon!!!) Fabrics are from @crimsonconfection. We are having our annual 4th of July party this weekend and I’m happy to be hanging this up just in time!
