8/31/26 - Rutherford County Commission Swearing in Ceremony.
One year ago, I decided I couldn’t wait any longer for change. I felt ignored, frustrated, and unrepresented.
I was told what I wanted to accomplish wasn’t possible for someone of my age and my views in such a “red” district. There’s no red or blue, there’s me and you, and now I have the privilege to serve those who took a chance on something new.
Make the change you want to see because no one is going to do it for you. taken in Rutherford County by @bren4ruco

WOW: 23-year-old Brendan Doughtie flipped a seat on the Rutherford County, TN commission and broke the Republican supermajority.

Doughtie is the youngest commissioner in the county’s history, where Trump won by over 20 points. Rutherford County, Tennessee Commissioner-elect Brendan Doughtie standing in front of trees. Text overlaid reads, "Democratic win: Brendan Doughtie, one of the youngest elected officials in the country, flips Tennessee County Commission seat." by @bren4ruco

We need our local leaders to be aware of these things. We can’t allow the people of our county to be the next victims of the power hungry oligarchs.
Many of these counties affected by data centers had no say in its existence. I want US to have a say.

Take this poll:
Would you be for or against an Ai data center in your community? taken in Rutherford County by @bren4ruco

Hey Murfreesboro! Since your state senator, Dawn White, has never held a town hall for you, I'm headed your way Sunday night to host a Senate District 13 Town Hall.

Don't worry, real leadership is on the way: @awynnforsenate

What’s better than volunteering with Outdoor Murfreesboro? Taking a nature hike in 65 degree weather while volunteering with Outdoor Murfreesboro!! Shoutout to Jo, the most incredible and dedicated volunteer coordinator. Together, we gathered over 100lbs in individual trash bags and approximately more than triple that with larger, single items.
Don’t forget I have a link in my bio with how you can sign up and get involved in our community. You can also download the “Volunteer Local” app to sign up to pick up shifts whenever it’s convenient for you. taken in Murfreesboro, Tennessee by @bren4ruco

Biodiversity and native species are crucial to support our local ecosystems and overall survival. Andra was a great volunteer coordinator here at the Murfreesboro Indigenous Plant Rescue and I cannot stress enough how incredibly important and impactful her work, and the volunteers are to our community. We as a community need to invest in our very limited resources we have so that a positive difference can be made.

Come tell us how you feel about the data centers, the current proposal and what we should consider in future zoning. Everyone who wants to speak will be given 3 minutes. This is your chance to be heard and engage with the community! taken in Rutherford County by @bren4ruco
