It's halfway through the year and as Miff approaches I'm reflecting on the last 6 or so months. I always find myself reflecting during the Miff period; there's something about finding yourself watching an ever increasing amount of friend's work on the big screen, and what steps to take in my own career to make the same things happen for myself. It's both super exciting & motivating, while also leaving me second guessing different choices throughout my career that have lead to the work that I am currently doing. Last year I said I wanted more narrative/creative based work, and I have been fortunate enough to be a part of 2 short films which I'm excited to share to the world soonish, as well as a handful of personal driven projects which will also be hopefully coming out soon (pending my edit skills). In a world of ever present instability in the land of content & TVC it has been refreshing to dive deeper into some more personal projects, and I am so so keen to show everyone. But the hustle is definitely still real. The first few BTS images are from my own project which I'm still working through the edit on. Also featured is some BTS from jobs that haven't come out yet; my first time working with director @aarushi_chowdhury, some more fun jobs with @oly_altavilla, and my ever talented crew & lovely collaborators who make the jobs all the more possible & enjoyable. @c.abernethy @drewcollins95 @neha_shenvi  Thanks too to @wandersgrace for the BTS pics of me ❤️ by @brendanjcherry

Some assorted BTS from a Vic Gov ad I shot a year back with Jeff Johnson. Good fun finding different ways to rig a rainbow rig for transitions, trying to squeeze a jib into a small bathroom, all while sharing the whole space with the stills team too! I'm so grateful that this year I've had many wonderful opportunities to be creative, surrounded by such beautiful collaborative  humans. I've been priviliged to be mere centimetres from some pheneomenal performances & to work in some very diverse locations all around the state. I want to highlight two short films that I've had the honour to shoot this year. Both of these films, "The Last Tenant" & "Abiogenesis" have been rewarding in so many different ways. Both ambitious, as usual, both exploring characters who are just trying to learn about themselves in the world that is around them. Ivan premiered his film at The Astor, followed by a Q&A, a first experience for me. Will is deep in the edit of his film & I think it is truly my best work yet - I can't wait for everyone to see it. I'm late to my post Miff yearly review, but sharing some of the very real & gritty location work, surrounded by such hard working & dedicacted crew feels fitting for this week. Mostly all first time collaborators with me, I'd love to shout out some of my crew - in lighting @HamishRossMcglynn & @brydon.mp4 . In camera, @filmogenem & Mitchell Neets, as well as @shekharrawatphotography & @mekkymeka . Also want to shout out @drewcollins95 on some wild ride commercials throughout this year. I think this is the year of playing catchup. Joseph & I started chatting about this script just shy of two years ago. For him it was an exercise in writing a piece for his acting. For me it an attempt at getting back into narrative. Joe found Georgia & Tim and the team started to form to create this short little film. Sroked to finally be sharing some stills from it and I'm ever keen for some more narrative opportunities amongst the up & down commercial chaos. 2 0 2 5 Better late than never, here's some highlights from 2025. Last year saw an increase in some more personal & creative driven projects; several fashion films, some short films, couple of music videos, as well as more narrative driven commercials. Last year was the least handheld I've done too actually. That being said I'm super keen to keep exploring fun ways to move the camera, be it handheld, dolly, steadicam, crane. It was a super satisfying year creatively, starting to form some fresh new collaborations which I can't wait to continue. There's actually still a few jobs not featured which I have to keep a lid on but soooo keen for them to be in the world.
