If you’re new around here, welcome! 👋🏻 I thought it was probably time I introduced myself again with more art lovers joining my page this year😄

I’m a North Queensland artist, born and raised in Townsville, and I’ve been painting for around 18 years. My work is heavily inspired by the ocean, reefs, tropical landscapes and all those beautiful colours we’re lucky enough to have around us.

But here are a few things you might not know about me…

🎨 I don’t really “paint” in the traditional sense. A lot of my work is poured, layered, moved and guided rather than brushed onto a canvas.

🥄 Yes, I actually use spoons and cups to paint. 😂 Some of my favourite marks and shapes have come from the most unlikely studio tools.

💙 There is a LOT of blue in my studio. Like… a slightly ridiculous amount of blue. I’ve tried to escape it. It keeps coming back.

✨ I love adding little touches of metallics so the artwork changes as the light moves across it.

🌊 I’ve painted everything from small pieces you can hang at home to a 150sqm ocean mural at Townsville @tsvairport

♻️ And I’m always looking for ways to use what I already have. Even leftover resin can become something completely different- including jewellery.

🌴 I’m a mum of two, a long-time resident artist at @drillhallstudio, and I’m happiest when I’m creating something that feels a little bit like bringing a piece of North Queensland home.

So, if you’re new here… hello! 👋🏻

I’d love to know, what brought you to my page? Are you an art lover, a fellow creative, a local, or just someone who really loves the ocean? 🌊 😄

Hello & welcome 👋
To all the new art lovers who’ve joined me here lately - I’m so glad you’re here.

This space is where I share my creative process, not just finished pieces. I love painting intuitively and letting the artwork evolve as I go. Feel free to interact, ask questions, and tell me what colours or pieces catch your eye.

Thanks for being here and supporting handmade art 💙✨ taken in Brenda Stone Art by @brendastoneart

🏆 A little North Queensland creativity on the awards stage.

For the @townsvilleenterprise North Queensland Tourism & Events Awards, I’ve had the opportunity to create custom, tropical-inspired resin trophies that celebrate the people and businesses making a difference across our region.

And this year, I created 16 awards! 🏆

This project brings together so many parts of my practice, from CNC-machining and laser engraving to hand-poured resin, gold detailing and the finishing touches that make every award unique.

I’m especially grateful to Townsville Enterprise for their ongoing support and for continuing to work with me on these projects. Collaborations like this mean a lot to a local artist and small business, and it’s wonderful to see my work become part of an event celebrating the achievements of our region.

It’s a great example of what can happen when local organisations and local creatives work together.

Thank you, @townsvilleenterprise @townsvillenorthqueensland
@townsvillecouncil for continuing to support local creativity. 💙

🌊 A few of my favorite ocean inspired resin earrings that I’ve hand-poured lately!!

Each of my resin earrings are inspired by the colours of our beautiful ocean, reef and North Queensland coastline. Each pair is individually made, so there’s always something a little different to discover. 💙

Whether you’re shopping for yourself or looking for a special gift, you can find a pair you love both in store and online!

Happy earring shopping! ✨ by @brendastoneart
