The Mistress of La Cage – that’s what I called you, half in jest, half out of respect for your grand entrance into life.
We’d known each other since the pool days, lost touch and found each other again, like two records spinning on the same groove after years apart.
Amidst beats, projects and all the chaos, we were close – sometimes too close, sometimes full of noise. Yet it was precisely in that that your big heart always lay, the one that makes you unforgettable.
You, Gary, b:east, Alfi and Rocky – all part of your world, which has now moved on a little further.
I hope you’re DJing up there again, somewhere in your sky full of flashes of light, and laughing at us down here.

Many thanks to everyone who - whether by smoke signal, WhatsApp chain letter, Facebook, postcard, carrier pigeon or even in person - thought of me on my 50th birthday and wished me a happy birthday! You made my day a real highlight. I am still blown away by the beautiful, funny and sometimes highly philosophical messages I received. Apparently half a century not only brings wrinkles, but also a wave of congratulations!

Who would have thought that I would still be so hip at 50 that even my mobile phone was about to hang up? It's unbelievable how many lovely people I've been able to collect in half a century - or have you been able to collect me?

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the kind words, witty sayings and creative gift ideas. You have shown me: Growing old is only a problem if nobody takes any notice. With so much attention, I feel more like a rock star... with a bit more patina!

Also a huge THANK YOU to all of you! Raise a glass with me (virtually or in real life) to 50 years, the best friends and even better years to come - if my memory keeps up, I'll remember them all too!

Stay healthy, stay crazy, and give me a big hug - here's to the next 50!

A walk through the Parque de Madrid

The Parque de Madrid is more than just a green space - it is a place full of stories, experiences and unique moments.
On a sunny morning, a man enters the park through the large, crowded tower. His red hoodie glows in contrast to the dark sky as he longs to walk through the narrow alleyways. The light is cold and the light wind blows in the still chilly air of the houses.
As he walks through the avenues, he meets people enjoying the park in their own way: an elderly couple sitting on a bench feeding pigeons, children running around laughing and a musician playing soft guitar sounds that mingle with the gentle rustling of the leaves.
He stops, looks around and takes in the moment. Here, in the centre of the city, time seems to pass more slowly. Perhaps that is what makes this place special - it offers anyone who is interested the opportunity to savour a moment in the world to the full.

In younger years, so wild and free,
vinyl stacked high, my music spree.
With every record, needle set down,
beats and melodies spun the town.

Through sleepless nights, the sound alive,
celebrating life, where dreams would thrive.
Collected visions in blackened grooves,
finding myself in rhythmic moves.

Now in my End 40s, the pace has slowed,
the records spin less, their stories old.
But no, they still play, though not as before,
in quiet moments, memories roar.

At home, in warm, familiar light,
the needle drops soft, the mood just right.
The sound crackles gently, tales of past,
of youthful days that flew so fast.

A few records left, like friends who stay,
comforting here, in their worn-out way.
And so I listen, in the calm and still,

The summer of 2024 is drawing to a close as the days slowly get shorter and the sun's rays lose their strength. The heat that once made the asphalt shimmer gives way to a gentle coolness that bathes the evening sky in golden and orange tones. The wind carries a hint of change in the air, a fleeting feeling of farewell that stills the heart.

People look back on days full of light, on moments that felt like eternity but now seem as fleeting as the last warm summer rain. Memories of laughter, of long nights under the open sky, of the salt water on their skin and the smell of sun cream mingle with the realisation that all of this is coming to an end for this year.

Results of the summer of 2024:

Amidst the melancholy, however, pride also shimmers. It was a summer in which many dreams were pursued. Perhaps not all of them were achieved, but the pursuit has left its mark. New friendships were forged, old ones strengthened. Nature recovered to some extent, despite all the challenges that the year brought with it. A summer of reflection and the hope that the sun will return after the winter.

But now it's time to let go. Autumn is ready to honour the colours of summer and prepare the world for the calm of winter. And so the last sigh of summer 2024 fades away, like a melody that slowly recedes into silence but continues to resonate deep in our hearts.💜 by @brett_knacksen

In the midst of a bright sea of colourful lights, I stand with my friends, whom I haven't seen for so long. The air is filled with laughter and joy, but at this moment everything around me blurs. The twinkling lights are reflected in your eyes and I can't help but lose myself in this magical moment. Time seems to stand still while the colours of the evening envelop us and for a moment the world is ours alone. In the midst of this colourful hustle and bustle, I find what I have been looking for for so long: you.

Our hands touch and a gentle, familiar feeling spreads. It is as if we are the only ones in this world of light and colour, as if this moment was created just for us. Reuniting with friends is wonderful, but the real magic of the evening lies in finding yourself in the midst of this blaze of colour.

Under the colourful sky, surrounded by old friends and new memories, I feel that this is just the beginning. The colours of the sea of light may be fleeting, but the feeling you awaken in me is not.
