Listened to & played some keys along with these albums during this week’s sesh. Definitely joints worth giving a listen to if u haven’t. 2 of these were recorded at Electric Lady Studios, the studio created by Jimi Hendrix & where lots of greatness was recorded including albums by Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu & D’Angelo to name a few. Happy 40th to this dope dose of pink funk from the incredibly talented Jesse Johnson! Though largely known for his stint with The Time & as an amazing guitarist (which he should be since he’s one of the absolute best at it), he’s also a helluva songwriter & badass one man band that he should get more props for like his purple friend. I’ve kept this album in rotation since its release because every cut is fire af. There’s also some top notch b-sides that came from this era including the extra funky ‘Drive Yo Cadillac’ & ‘Fool’s Paradise’ with its blazin’ guitar solos. Definitely a majorly smokin’ jewel in the MPLSound canon. Dig it up. B1.🎸🩷 by @bretteclectic

Peace all. Hope ur all good. I’ve been in lab mode a lot lately. Outside of creating a bunch of new music, here’s some of what I’ve been listening to, playing along with, studying, watching & reading during my sessions. B1. by @bretteclectic
