Eagle Mountain is proposing a 220% property tax increase for capital projects and public safety.

I heard so many residents for 2 hours tell the city council why not to vote for the proposed tax increase. How do you feel about it?

Canvassing, talking with people, and learning their stories reminds me of my LDS mission in Spain where I learned to listen and understand others. That’s how I learned to listen without pushing my beliefs and holding room for theirs.

I even had to do it in Spanish and Mandarin. Campaigning is a lot like my mission, but much more public.

CALL TO ACTION‼️ Statewide support needed on October 20 to stop the Utah County planning commission from approving Application # 2026-09. This would amend land use ordinances to add data center development as an approved use on a large swath of our land AND instate a provision that allows for developments, even if they don’t meet regulatory standards. I was wrong, and there’s nothing wrong with admitting it.

There are two constitutional amendments on Utah’s midterm ballot. I told the @sltrib I would vote for amendment A and against amendment B; however, some constituents and close ones expressed their concerns about governmental abuse. So I changed my vote.

Politicians and political candidates should be able to change their minds, especially to align their neighbors and constituents.

As your representative, I will vote with the people - not against them.

Election Day is November 3, 2026! Make sure to read up on your candidates and vote!

If you live in Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain, or Lehi Utah, you finally have a choice on the ballot! I’m running for Utah House of Representatives in house district 51 because I grew tired of corrupt politicians pushing their agenda.

My goals are to increase the number of schools in the area, advocate for increased infrastructure, facilitate affordable housing, local control, and keeping government accountable and accessible.

I had the opportunity to speak at the Utah County Commissioner Meeting about application #2026-09 which would ultimately make it so the commissioners could approve data centers without public comment. This doesn’t rebuild trust in our leaders; it crushes it.

I’m Brett Nielsen, and I’m running for Utah House of Representatives in Lehi, Saratoga Springs, and Eagle Mountain. I got tired of the political status quo, so I decided to bring practicality and moderation back to the Utah Capitol.
