Hi, I’m Brett! I’m a dry haircutting specialist here in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

This year marks 5 years of me being a licensed hairdresser and in that time I have traveled as near as Ohio, and as far as New York City and London for training in haircutting.

I recently became self-employed and am accepting new and return clients @jeffrey.benjamin.hair on @thelandingfw in downtown Fort Wayne!

Whether it’s a short bob, a shaggy fringe, or an effortless face framing cut, I love creating looks bespoke to your unique facial features, hair texture, and lifestyle.

I also suffer from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and work to advocate for the misunderstood disorder. 🧠

When I’m not in the salon, I enjoy spending time with my partner, decorating my apartment, and playing video games. 👨🏼‍❤️‍👨🏻🛋️🎮

The 90s It-Girl Bob 🦋

Carlee came in with an open mind ready to chop her hair. She was very opened minded about ideas and pretty much left it all up to me.

So I started by cutting the initial length off before going in and cutting it where we wanted it to be, then added some cheekbone-grazing face framing, and finished by taking loads of weight out to make it sit more freely.

We hand-styled with @hairstorystudio and diffused for a super chic, undone finish which she can easily replicate herself at home!

Curly Shag 🦋

Noelle came in with long curly hair that hadn’t been cut since last year. She wanted to add in lots of shape and layers to her hair to make her curls spring up, while taking off some length to get rid of her old colored ends.

We brought up her bangs, added in face framing tendrils for when she wears her hair up, and created shorter layers to give her hair a more rounded shape.

I cut her hair dry with my @angelbladescissors and then washed with @hairstorystudio New Wash and diffused with Hair Balm and Gel, then added some Powder and Undressed once it was fully dry.

I’m so obsessed with how her hair turned out! Thank you so much for trusting me with your curls Noelle! 🙏🏻

Girl Next Door Haircut 🦋

Anya came in with long almost one length hair and wanted some subtle shaping to her hair. She was a little nervous about shorter face framing being chunky and hard to style, but I assured her with my @jataifeather razor it would be soft and effortless.

I cut her hair dry so I could see the shape and feel the weight of it as I was cutting. She thought she had naturally straight hair, but with the help of the cut, my @denmanbrush and @hairstorystudio products I was able to hand-style her hair to bring out her natural wavy texture.

This cut is sure to turn heads with its beauty in simplicity 💇‍♀️

Sophie Thatcher inspired shullet for @ratgxrl_

When I first started specializing in haircuts a few years ago, I didn’t even know how or where to start a haircut like this.

Through the years Alexis trusted me to cut this hybrid shag-mullet or shullet for her and now it’s become one of my favorite cuts to create!

It’s a step further than a shag, but a step before a mullet making it super versatile to style and I love how grunge yet effortless it can be worn!

Fringes 🦋

Arguably the most important part of any haircut: the hair around your face.

Bits, petals, tendrils, whatever you wanna call those magical face framing bits that frame your eyes, cheekbones, and jawline are all what make up a beautiful fringe.

They make wearing your hair up stylish, easy, and effortless. They work beautifully on every hair type including curly hair, wavy hair, straight hair, fine hair, and coarse hair. They can be worn blown-out, air-dried, diffused, even wet for a grungier look.

A go-to look on days when you can’t be bothered to do your hair but still want look effortlessly cute ✨

Adding Effortless Shape 🦋

Faith came in with grown out curtain bangs that she wanted reshaped into something that she could wear styled forward or parted in the center.

She explained that she wanted some weight taken out of the bangs where her hair gets heavy for a more piece feel along with some wispy tendrils for when she wears her hair up.

I also connected face framing layers into the rest of her hair for a seamless grow out and to make it easier for her to style whether she wears it blown out or naturally curly.

I cut her hair dry with my @angelbladescissors so I could see exactly how it was laying and feeling without risking taking anything too short once it shrinks ✂️
