PULL UP DC!

Songs That Soundtracked the AIDS Crisis is an interactive, multimedia workshop exploring how 80s and 90s pop music became a powerful reflection of queer life during the AIDS crisis. Through storytelling, archival footage, and music videos, we’ll revisit the sounds that carried our communities through grief, joy, and resistance.

Facilitated by gran varones, this session honors music as memory—and dance floors as archives.

June 28 | 1–5 PM | The Festival Center (1640 Columbia Rd NW)

This playlist is for the barrios and the pueblos. This is for the hood. This is for the people we deem worthy, regardless of having a podcast or a string of degrees after their names. This is for those of us who are surviving, thriving, and finding our joy in their bodies. This is our sound.
