Anitta has gone from growing up in HonoĢrio Gurgel, a neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, to international stardom. Some have called her journey a glow-up but, for me, it is more than that. It is proof of what it looks like to never forget where you come from or who you come from. And as a bisexual woman, sheā€™s spoken out about the erasure of experiences and stigma that so many of us know too well. - ArmonteĢ Swipe šŸ‘ˆšŸ½ to read more! #granvarones #lgbtqa #latinxheritagemonth

Happy Birthday to my Mother Bahsha, BKA The Most High Potent and Noble Princess Her Grace Bahsha, Duchess of Hillcrest. Thank you for your love and your light in my life. Helping me walk in my faith, picking me up to love me when I felt lost after my grandmotherā€™s death and abandoned in love. As I find my way in lifeā€”trying to find love, community, and familyā€”your guidance and encouragement has been beyond value. Youā€™ve made it thru so much. And Iā€™m so glad to say Iā€™m your child. May you continue to guide me, and may the Holy Mother of God continue to keep us in Her prayers. Happy Birthday Duchess Hillcrest. Love always, Kahnstitution, BKA, The Right Honorable Kahnstitution, Viscount of Aspen

end of the month dump. may 2026. may felt like care. like celebration. like community. there were lots of wins among sooooo many people in my community. and definitely a lotta of wins with me. i told my therapist iā€™d actually sit with all these good feelings without rushing. without ruminating on whatā€™s still missing. i said iā€™d be in the moment and integrate more with my inner child. so. here are those moments and people that made that happen. andā€¦hereā€™s a letter i wrote to my younger self as proof that i really understood and DID the assignment. ā€¦ dear adia, nina simone sang ā€œi wish i knew how it would feel to be free.ā€ it took you a while to discover her sound, but i think she became one of your favs when she was posed to be. this world often feels like itā€™s crumbling. and donā€™t get me wrong, it is scary. but, my sweet girlā€¦you just reached your dream. and you did so, doing more than academic work. you worked your way through a personal degree. one with a curriculum that was full of self-discovery, advocating for yourself, grief, and learning more about safety. i hope you know this took a lot of courage. that you are courageous. i hope you know this is all worth celebrating for as long as you want to. and above allā€¦i hope you know i love you. not for this new degree behind your name. iā€™m proud of you for who you were during it. who you are. iā€™m proud of the ā€œin-betweenā€. the moments when it was hard. the times you stayed out the way for clarity. the emotions you showed, refusing to believe that if you did, youā€™d be weak. iā€™m proud of how youā€™re learning and using the depths of your feelingsā€¦as your strength. your family got a lot of things right. but naming you ā€˜adiaā€™? swahili for ā€œa gift from godā€™...well, that is perhaps the best thing.Ā  because youā€™re such a gift to me. itā€™s your time, girl. whether you feel like itā€™s late or youā€™re behindā€¦ itā€™s your time to shine and actually go see if you can even get a glimpse of what ms. nina sang. to dream, build, be, and REST in what it feels likeā€¦to be free. according to nobodyā€™s rules but yours. nobodyā€™s life but yours. nobodyā€™s plot but yours.Ā  itā€™s all you, baby boo. and itā€™s always been you. love, a.

what keeps us whole in a world that always wants and needs us fractured? what helps us to reach safety? Iā€™ve been sitting on these questions for a couple weeks now. It finally feels like itā€™s time to do some answering. itā€™s mental health awareness month šŸ’š and i donā€™t think we can talk about black folx mental health unless weā€™re also talking about ā€œfelt safety.ā€ especially if youā€™re a black woman living through a period right now where weā€™re bombarded with time we donā€™t have, unwavering political and global crises, hot takes on clips and podcasts we ainā€™t ask for, headlines, and bodies found in trunks, streets, pavements, parking lots, and everywhere elseā€¦that ainā€™t home. so how do we make ourselves home? how do we tend to roots that sometimes needs pruning? our privileged and conscious felt safety, how we move from survival to thriving,ā€¦ Iā€™m finding mine depends on a few things- care, compassion, centering, community. these are things Iā€™d say we all need to disarm, become undone, evolve, and ultimatelyā€¦get free. hope this reaches who itā€™s posed to. from my mind, and community, to yours. feat. some of the very memories, moments, and people that made me feel whole, safe, and me. stay well. stay free. love, dia šŸ©µ
