2025 was another fabulous year to love and be loved by my babies.

We said goodbye to our longest companion, Comet. We miss his bright green eyes, his wheezy purr, and his adventurous spirit. I was so blessed to have him by my side throughout my young adulthood. Burn bright my Comet ☄️

Eska celebrated her 25th birthday! She gave me a few hard days and lots and lots of fun days, as per usual. She has become the sweetest old lady and we had a lot of growth in our fitness this year 💪

The Monte man has become defiant in his old age. He had a wonderful year of doing whatever he wanted. I am always grateful for his goofy antics and he remains a total mamas boy. 🐕

Juniper enjoyed BALL first and foremost. She kept us busy being insistent about play time. She is always the life of the party and a real weirdo. We especially loved watching her raise her new baby this year 🐶🐈‍⬛

We welcomed Fern baby to our family this fall. She loves her sister above all else. She is fearless, fluffy and totally spoiled. She is just the prettiest little gal and has added so much joy and laughter and big feelings to our family. 🌿

This July marks 2 years since my diagnosis with Type 1 Diabetes. I have remained vigilant and look cute doing it!

Overall, I am doing very well and I hope that I can continue on that path.

I have so many things I could say about the ups and the downs, but really my heart is heavy.

The financial burden of living with this disease is a lot- with “good” healthcare. This year I have spent thousands, with insurance. I am saddened beyond words to think of those who are and will be battling diabetes in the United States without healthcare access.

Without affordable insulin people will die. Without affordable glucose monitors, meters, test strips, (the list goes on) people will die. Without the ability to access their endocrinologists, people will die. These things aren’t even “affordable” for most as is.

Quite frankly, if I lost access to insurance, I would likely die of diabetes related illness. Whether that be a direct lack of insulin and DKA, the inability to monitor blood sugar, increasing A1Cs and the complications that follow.

This is happening to diabetics in the United States and it will continue to get worse. Cutting medicaid and medicare will kill people. Cutting funding to research will kill people.

Thank you all who are remaining empathetic and compassionate to your fellow citizens. Keep fighting the good fight.
