Mom came to town and we had the best time searching out dahlia fields, riverfront walks, farmers markets, and a quick stay in Seattle. What I’ll cherish the most is cooking big breakfasts together and playing cards after dinner. You Deserve Sunshine ☀️
Tonight we had the pleasure of hosting @1709records for the Heated Rivalry original soundtrack Vinyl Release party: cardboard cutouts, trivia, bingo, a re-release of one of my favorite seasonal menus of all time, and lots of fandom. It was Miki’s first listening party in years and she did one hell of a job gathering the community and bringing them to the cottage to feel seen and loved. 💕

October: quick trip to AZ for dad’s 70th, both sisters being cancer-free, and much needed family time.

Fall hit quickly this year with the big dark bringing about lots of cozy quiet time for evening contemplations of purpose + vision, life + death, joy + sadness, liberation + spirituality.

8 years ago I took a leap of faith and dove back into coffee with my friend @mitch.montgomery. Since then, I’ve faced my biggest challenges and tasted sweet victories and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Friends and relatives wondered when I’d settle for the “grown‑up job” that promised stability. By pushing myself to evolve, raise my standards and never settle, I found my calling and became a co‑owner @relevantcoffee along the way.

The relationships I’ve built have taught me to lead with empathy and kindness. Stepping back from the day‑to‑day to support the team I helped shape has given me a deeper sense of purpose. Showing up for our community has helped me understand and experience individual impact, mutual-aid, and connection.

8 is a balloon of joy, invert it and it’ll shackle your hands the work. 😆

Happy Birthday, Sis!
A few weeks ago, Nicole was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. She’s facing this head-on, with so much strength.

I started a GoFundMe to help cover holistic care during chemo - acupuncture, massage, naturopath visits, and more. She’s overwhelmed by the outpouring of support the campaign has received so far!

So good to see Isabel and her family tonight at @4caminosmexicanrestaurant!

In mid-December, Isabel, her family, and an employee suffered a devastating explosion while setting up their food truck for a community event. They were left with serious burns and have spent the past several weeks receiving medical treatment and follow-up care while focusing on healing.

Isabel is a bright light of kindness and generosity in the Vancouver area. Many in the community have shown their support by visiting her restaurant on Fourth Plain or contributing to the GoFundMe to help with expenses during this difficult time.

Tonight, she was absolutely beaming to be back in the kitchen — sooner than I ever expected!
