Since my last birthday, so much has changed; who would’ve known that 365 days could hold so many lessons? But the most important thing I’ve taken from this past year is that nothing is guaranteed.

That doesn’t just apply to the good, it applies to the bad too. My blessings aren’t always guaranteed but neither are the obstacles that get put in my path. Forever doesn’t simply last forever unless the intention and effort are made to make it last or, in turn, decide when it should end.

The only thing I can guarantee is how I choose to show up for myself. I decide how I react, learn, and grow from trials and tribulations.

So this year, I vow to continue always choosing myself no matter what, because no matter what external factors try to affect me, I will always love me for me.

August 19th… I will see you next year. Can’t wait to discover what lessons await me and what I ultimately choose to give my energy to.🤍

In just a short time, I lost two people who I never thought I would be saying goodbye to. It doesn’t feel real saying goodbye to them both so close together, but I just know Mom Mom was only missing her love for 32 days and now they are reunited again. Heaven gained two amazing, wonderful, and God-fearing angels.

My heart hurts in ways I cannot explain, but I find comfort knowing that no more pain and suffering will come to you and that you are reunited again. Thank you for the memories, the love, and the impact you have left on my heart. May your beautiful souls rest in peace.

As I turned in my last final today I couldn’t believe that I was truly done and I still can’t!

In 3 days, on Monday, May 6, 2024, I will be graduating from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a B.S. in Computer Science with Honors and a minor in Mathematics. I will be graduating Magna Cum Laude and could not be more proud of myself! These last 4 years have truly been a rollercoaster but I am grateful for every hill that I had to take. 🎓

I also want to thank my OG sisters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for pushing me and keeping me afloat. I am so appreciative of all this organization has done for me and will do for me in the future. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store. 🔺🐘

But this is not the end but only the beginning of a new book with many chapters ready to be filled.

Even though this is late.... Senior Night was amazing!❤️ I’m sad because I realize that this is my last season and my last year at Grissom, and even though there has been many ups and downs the past 4 years I couldn’t ask for another school, team, and the people who support me on a daily.😌 I just want to say thank you to my team, my fellow seniors and everyone that has put a positive impact on my life in high school.🤞🏽 This will always be a lasting memory!💕 taken in Grissom Basketball by @brianaremoore
