Here’s our engagement story 💍✨

Months ago, Drey asked Bria’s hand in marriage. Bria’s mom said yes and then the planning started.

When thinking about the place, the most important thing was for it to be somewhere intentional that would show Bria how special she was to him.

Before even dating, Bria told Drey that her favorite place in the world was her grandparents home in Holland, NY, just outside of Buffalo. They sold the property in 2022.

So we reached out to the new owners to see if they would be willing to host a surprise engagement. They said they’d love to be a part of something so special.

Then we got to planning. Bria’s mom, sister, aunt, and mom all contributed to keeping the surprise for months. From flower bouquets to a special blanket, we made sure each detail expressed the love between Bria and Drey.

The day of, we threw Bria off by making up a few stories, while Drey and some of her family members headed out to the house to set up.

We told Bria she’d just drive by the old house, a tradition when we go visit. Little did she know the surprise that would be waiting for her.

This was such a beautiful surprise.

My grandparent’s lived in this house for 58 years and it’s my favorite place in the world. It’s the house my mom brought me home to from the hospital as a baby, and the place where so many of my favorite childhood memories were made.

When they sold it in 2022, I was heartbroken because It had always been my dream to one day buy the house. It was really like saying goodbye to a piece of me & my childhood.

Whenever we’re in town, we almost always drive past it on the way to our family’s favorite restaurant. I thought we were just driving by so I started recording because I wanted another video of the house.

I had no idea that Drey and my family had all conspired to create one of the most meaningful surprises of my life.

Now the place that holds so much of my past will forever hold the beginning of our future.

I am so so grateful to the current owners for allowing this to happen and my family & Drey for helping to make this so so special. I love you all so much! 🤍🤍 by @briatoupac
