The beautiful draping in this @galialahav dress actually goes all the way back to Ancient Greece & Rome!💕🩷

The idea of wrapping & draping fabric around the body, letting it naturally fold & gather has been inspiring designers for thousands of years. And now we see that same idea translated into modern couture and bridal fashion 🤍

I just love when you look at a dress and there’s a tiny piece of fashion history hiding in it 🎀

This gorgeous dress is called Titania and it is inspired by the fairy Queen of A Midsummer’s Night’s dream 🩷 my favorite ballet 🩰 and play! Capes are thousands of years older than the wedding dress as we know it. Ancient Greeks and Romans wore cloak-like garments, and throughout history, elaborate capes became associated with status, ceremony and power. By the Victorian era, women were wearing incredibly ornate capes made from silk, lace and embroidery💗 including capes that may have been worn for weddings.
