A safe place for ALL youth ages 10-22 for safe shelter, basic needs, and healthy relationships.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
⚠️ IMPORTANT RESOURCE: The Bridge is a "Cooling Station" for youth ages 10-17 to escape dangerous temperatures ☀️

When a Heat Advisory or Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for Hennepin County, the heat index is forecast to reach 95°F or higher, or other environmental conditions create a risk of heat-related illness, youth are welcome to come in and find shelter from the heat. Youth can use our lobby to cool off, grab a bottle of water and a snack, relax a bit, and charge their phones.

We are located at 1111 W 22nd St in Minneapolis, off of bus lines 2, 6, and 12.

👉 Check ysnmn.org for more resources around the area. And for more ways to assist youth, visit www.bridgeforyouth.org by @bridgeforyouth

#IndigenousPeoplesDay isn’t just a day to celebrate Native American culture. It’s a day to listen to the strength, history, and wisdom of our Indigenous neighbors who have stewarded this land for millennia. The Bridge for Youth sits on the traditional, ancestral, and contemporary homeland of the Dakota People.

Dakota culture has passed down 7 values for generations: Prayer, Wisdom, Respect, Generosity, Humility, Caring and Compassion, Honesty and Truth. We believe these teachings are important and ever-present in our work to ensure all youth are safe, accepted, and supported.

At The Bridge, we’re committed to dismantling dominant culture, respecting children as sacred beings, and receiving the wisdom needed to walk with our Indigenous neighbors.

Today we’re sending love, strength, and space to our Indigenous youth, staff, board, and commUNITY members. The Bridge for Youth believes everyday is Indigenous Peoples’ Day because we are on Native land. by @bridgeforyouth

October is #LGBTQHistoryMonth - a time to celebrate and reflect on key moments in queer history. Hear more from our youth social media committee on moments of LGBTQ+ History that resonate with them:
🌈In 1973, the National LGBTQ+ Task Force was formed (then known as the National Gay Task Force). It was the first national LGBTQ+ organization in the U.S.

✊In 1977, The organization’s co-executive director, Jean O’Leary, met with the White House (specifically with Midge Costanza, President Carter’s assistant) to discuss discriminatory federal policies against the gay community. And now in

🧡2026, the chants of the Stonewall Uprising still stay true; we must support “gay power” and know that “we shall overcome.”

The Bridge is a safe space for all LGBTQ+ youth, and home to the Twin Cities' longest-running queer youth support group, 'So What If I Am?', which meets every Tuesday at 4:30. To learn more, email development@bridgeforyouth.org. by @bridgeforyouth

🏃 When it comes to supporting youth, it's a marathon, not a race...literally! We want to give a special shout-out to commUNITY member Nicholas Reily. This past weekend, he ran his first-ever marathon and used it to support The Bridge for Youth!

Leading up to his run at the TC Marathon, Nicholas called upon his community to make donations to The Bridge in honor of his run. Thanks to his efforts, he helped welcome new donors to The Bridge all while crossing the finish line!

Thank you, Nicholas, for using your unique platform to help youth feel safe, accepted, and supported 🧡 by @bridgeforyouth

Thanks to our commUNITY of support, we're ready for another month of outreach work 🌟

Our friends from Citizens Independent Bank came by to help us pack hygiene kits for the Mobile Youth Outreach Center. They breezed through our initial inventory, and we had to bring out more supplies to meet their pace. We have over 100 new kits to share with youth across the metro.

Thank you Citizens Independent Bank for being rock stars 🎉 by @bridgeforyouth
