Our incredible @diaryofawimpykid the Musical cast headed away for our Weekend Intensive at @theycampadair Being able to take young performers away on camp and dedicate that time entirely to creating theatre is such a privilege! Something I care deeply about is the experience young performers have in the rehearsal room. I want them to know what it feels like to be respected, supported, challenged and valued. To understand what they should expect and accept from the people they work with, and what they owe those people in return. I want them to value themselves, their ideas and their craft. And weekends like this are such a wicked opportunity to put all of that into practice. To create, collaborate, challenge ourselves and build the kind of rehearsal room culture I hope these young performers will carry with them into every creative space they enter 🤟🏽 The script, music and choreography are actually so good! Come and watch!! DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: THE MUSICAL 28 & 29 November 2026 Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre, Aotea Centre @aucklandlive Tickets available through Ticketmaster 🧡 by @briehill
I reckon finding your passion is a scam and actually first you have to try something → enjoy it → master it → passion develops Fight me, but also don’t! Im just a little gooey gal 🧡 by @briehill

Ok babes lock in … I’m so sick of professional creatives and leaders of young performing artists getting all coy with their celebration of other creatives. It’s yuck and I won’t let it be the future for our rangatahi by @briehill

Nothing like introducing yourself to a few thousand people… 🔥 Kia ora! I’m Brie, the new Social Media Lead at Auckland Women’s Centre I’m an actor, director and social media strategist. I’ve always been fascinated by the stories we tell, the ones we’re told and the ones we carry about ourselves. I think stories are one of the most powerful ways we make sense of the world and connect with each other 🌈 It is such a privilege to join Te Wahi Wahine o Tamaki Makaurau! I’m grateful to be here! Low cost counselling, advocacy, education and community- it’s such a special community to be part of and I feel lucky to help tell their stories and connect more women and non binary people with the support that’s available 🩷 If you’d like to know more about me, there’s a welcome on our website Link in bio Xx B by @briehill
I have spent much of the last year deficient in socialisation. But this weekend I got two full days and nights with my friends and apparently all my frontal lobe needed was hours of cocktails and hours of talking. The past few months have held a lot, a new job at Auckland Women’s Centre. Directing The Little Mermaid for NYT. Trying to find my people and my place in Mangawhai after moving away from everything I knew. Commuting constantly. Raising two tiny girly pops. Jackson launching Honey Hill Electrical. Me launching She Said Speak. (Which has become about as neglected as my inbox and my bloody folding pile). It’s been a ride and I’ve worked really hard to keep everything and everyone mostly alive. And because everyone around me is also doing hard things, it’s easy to just lift with your legs and keeping moving forward. I think a lot of women are conditioned to carry enormous invisible loads without ever fully putting them down. To keep everyone fed, emotionally regulated, remembered, organised and ok. And to do it all while remaining pleasant, capable, employable and vaguely moisturised. Anyway. I’m tired. But also weirdly proud. I really hope through all your many things - you get a chance to plug back in to the people and places that matter. X by @briehill
