I’M OFFICIALLY FEEDING TUBE FREE BABY!!! 🥹🤍

I can’t even begin to express how happy I am to share this update! My stomach still has a long way to go, but we’re feeling confident that removing the tube is the right next step in giving my body the best opportunity to continue healing.

Unfortunately, my feeding tubes have been particularly prone to bacterial and mold growth (and mold can cause a heck of a lot of problems). My body had started rejecting my previous tube before it eventually fell out, which we believe was related to mold growth. This most recent tube started developing mold just 10 days after placement, and it has been an ongoing issue for the past five months. Getting it out became an increasingly important part of moving forward!

My list of safe foods is still pretty limited, and we’re slowly working on introducing new foods and liquids (a very specific smoothie is currently the only liquid my stomach will cooperate with 😂). BUT my weight has remained stable throughout the past few months of tapering feeds, including FOUR full weeks without formula!! That is a HUGE step in the right direction!

There is still so much healing ahead and so much I’m praying for, but today I’m just really, really happy to be celebrating this milestone! 🥹🤍

I will probably always lean toward sharing the hopeful parts. I never want my words to make someone else believe there is no hope simply because a season is hard. But sometimes we need the honesty too. To remind us we are not alone.

The last two months have been really hard. Lately, it has felt a little like being trapped in quicksand—which, ironically, was one of my most irrational fears as a child 😂 I know where I’m trying to go. I’m working so hard to get there. But sometimes it feels like every time I manage to pull one part of myself free, something else starts sinking. I give everything I have and it still doesn’t feel like enough to move forward some days.

But even here, the hard has not been the whole story. There are people who fight for me when I don’t have much fight left. People who make me laugh when I’m barely conscious enough to appreciate it. Puppy snuggles. A hug. Patients and caregivers supporting one another. Someone squeezing my hand. An “I love you.” Laughing in rooms that have also held some of my hardest moments.

And over and over again, there has been the Lord’s provision and comfort. One of my most consistent prayers became: “God, as long as You have me here, please make a way for me to be here. As long as this is the right thing, make it clear.” And He has. Often in ways I never could have planned and through people I never could have anticipated.

I don’t know how much longer this chapter is or how many more times the plan will change. BUT I still believe there is another side to this. When I first walked through the doors at Spero years ago, I never doubted that I would walk back out better. Granted, I thought that would happen about twelve weeks later 😂 The timeline has shifted. The belief has not.

I refuse to let what I can see today determine what I believe is possible tomorrow. So I’m going to keep showing up. Keep doing the next thing in front of me. And keep giving each day everything I have.

I would really appreciate prayers over these next several weeks. For pain to drop, seizures to decrease, continued progress with nutrition, and for my body to hold onto the progress it has made all while continuing to learn🦋 by @brielle_crps

I’m still putting together Blind Date with a Book orders as part of my ongoing medical fundraiser AND prices have dropped! Each book is wrapped up as a surprise and makes such a fun gift. With the holidays coming up, now is a great time to start thinking about Christmas gifts, stocking stuffers, teacher gifts, or a little something for the book lover in your life🍂🎄📖

You can message me directly to place an order or order through my Etsy shop “Dearest Expressions”! https://www.etsy.com/shop/DearestExpressions . If you’re in Georgia and want me to send it back with family, I’d recommend messaging me directly so we can arrange that.

Every order continues to support me as I navigate this season and helps with medical bills and living costs, so thank you to everyone who has ordered, shared, or supported this little project. It means more than you know🤍
Message me if you’d like to order a Blind Date with a Book or start checking a few names off your Christmas list early! 🎁📚

DM me to order 💌 Options are:
💕 $22— standard wrapped book
💕 $30-wrapped book + handwritten note
💕 $32— Standard Book with a $5 gift card to 7brew or Starbucks

Treatment Modality Overview… Microcurrent ⚡️

Imagine talking to a friend on a phone call with terrible reception, where every third word is cut off by interference. That’s essentially what happens to your tissues and nervous system during chronic pain. The connection drops, the signal gets garbled, and the line is constantly jammed.

This is where Microcurrent comes in.

Microcurrent uses microamp electrical currents, the exact same tiny electrical charge your body naturally produces, to clear the interference and restore a clear connection.

It runs two channels at once;
*Channel A targets WHAT is happening (inflammation, scarring, nerve irritation).
* Channel B targets WHERE it’s happening (nerve, tendon, muscle, joint).

Because microcurrent works by matching exact frequencies, it isn’t a one-size-fits-all switch…it’s a control board. By pairing hundreds of action frequencies on Channel A (dissolving scar tissue, lowering inflammation) with precise tissue codes on Channel B (nerves, tendons, muscles, organs), there are thousands of specific protocols.

When the frequencies match, it creates an alignment that can instantly drop pain signals and boost ATP (cellular energy) by up to 500%. It gives tired, stuck cells the exact energy boost they need to repair themselves.

The micro current has the ability to target so much. From calming an overactive vagus nerve, clearing chronic joint inflammation, and improving deep restorative sleep, to softening deep scar tissue and speeding up muscle recovery, microcurrent speaks the specific language of nearly every tissue in your body.

It’s all about getting rid of the noise so the right message can finally get through and your body can work as it’s supposed to🔇💪🏼

Last August into September, I couldn’t manage to stay out of the ER. My body was struggling to keep up.

There’s still a long way to go and a lot that’s really hard, but I never want to become so focused on what still needs healing that I miss how far God has already carried me.

Walking into September this year grateful for the progress that’s been made and that it’s been 4 months and my last ER visit🙌🏻💙 by @brielle_crps

Today’s Treatment Overview: Magnesphere 🧲

Another modality in my treatment plan is Magnesphere, a Magnetic Resonance Therapy system that uses extremely low-level, precisely controlled magnetic fields to help support your body’s magnetic field and regulation of the autonomic nervous system (ANS).

The ANS controls so many of the processes our bodies handle automatically like heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, temperature regulation, stress responses, and more. When the nervous system spends too much time in a sympathetic, or “fight-or-flight,” state, it can become increasingly difficult for the body to shift back into the parasympathetic “rest-and-digest” state where relaxation and recovery can occur.

How it works:
During Magnesphere, I sit in a chair surrounded by large magnetic rings that create a uniform, low-level electromagnetic field around the body. The precisely controlled magnetic fields are designed to enhance feelings of relaxation and help reduce symptoms associated with chronic internal stress.

For me, the bigger goal is nervous system regulation. So much of my treatment is focused on retraining a nervous system that has learned abnormal patterns and become incredibly reactive to different forms of input. Magnesphere gives us another way to work on decreasing that heightened state and encouraging my body toward parasympathetic activation.

That matters not only for how my nervous system functions on its own, but also for how well I can tolerate and respond to the rest of my therapies.

A huge part of my treatment plan isn’t simply treating individual symptoms, it’s teaching my nervous system how to regulate, respond appropriately to input, and eventually maintain those changes on its own! by @brielle_crps

A long overdue update (screenshots are in the post)🧡🎗️

We’re still untangling the necklace, sometimes painfully slowly, one tiny knot at a time. But when I look back, I can see just how many knots have already come undone.

Still praying. Still fighting. Still celebrating the wins. Still trusting the Lord with the timeline. And still believing for the suddenly! by @brielle_crps

Another therapy included in my treatment plan is lymphatic treatment!

The lymphatic system is one of those parts of the body that most of us rarely think about, yet it is constantly working behind the scenes. It helps collect excess fluid, cellular waste, proteins, and other substances from the tissues, while also transporting immune cells and helping the body defend itself. We also have hundreds of lymph nodes throughout the body. These nodes act as filtering stations, helping identify and respond to bacteria, viruses, damaged cells, and other substances the body may need to address.

It also plays an important role in digestion. Specialized lymphatic vessels in the small intestine help absorb dietary fats and fat-soluble vitamins and transport them into circulation.

The treatment device uses a combination of vibration, an electrostatic field, and low-energy electro-pressure.This modality is designed to encourage lymphatic movement using principles similar to manual lymphatic drainage, but through a rapid and consistent movement that cannot be replicated manually.

The goal is to:
🤍 Support healthy lymphatic flow
🤍 Encourage the movement of excess fluid and waste
🤍 Reduce areas of fluid stagnation
🤍 Support circulation and the body’s natural elimination pathways
🤍 Detoxification

The treatment is gentle, non-invasive, and designed to work with the body’s natural pathways.

The human body is so intricate. Every system is connected, and every therapy I do is supporting a different piece of the puzzle. In this case, healing is rarely about one miracle treatment, more often, it is dozens of small things working together over time!

One step at a time🧡 by @brielle_crps

a little glimpse into one of the many things we are working on:) We’ve been working on helping my brain reconnect with parts of my leg that it hasn’t been communicating with normally.

Recently, we have been focusing on using the lateral side of my foot and lower leg during movement, while also teaching that area how to truly relax again. Those may sound like simple tasks, but after years of abnormal signaling, that’s become anything but simple.

When my foot is moving or relaxing the way it’s supposed to, my brain doesn’t recognize those patterns as familiar anymore. It’s almost as if “normal” has become foreign.

Instead of smoothly allowing the movement or relaxation to happen, my nervous system struggles to process those signals correctly. That’s when the involuntary movements begin. They usually start in my toes, spread into my foot and ankle, and can gradually work their way farther up my leg and sometimes into the rest of my body. My brain is simply having to relearn movement patterns that it hasn’t used correctly in a very long time.

Our brains don’t just tell muscles when to move, they also coordinate movement, process sensory information, regulate muscle activity, and know when it’s safe to relax. When those systems aren’t communicating well, even something as basic as relaxing a foot or using a certain group of muscles can become incredibly challenging.

These sessions are mentally and physically exhausting because my brain is processing so much information while trying to relearn movement patterns that have been abnormal for years, but every time is another opportunity to strengthen those pathways and remind my nervous system what normal is supposed to feel like.

It’s amazing how much work goes into something, but every small improvement is another reminder that the nervous system is capable of change!! by @brielle_crps

Dr. Lauren, thank you for never giving up on me. For believing in me. For fighting for me. For hounding me to watch Downton Abbey for four years. For laughing through evaluations. For rolling your eyes at me more times than I can count. For appreciating my tiny containers. For pranking others with me. For rolling with my weird stuff. For always remembering the small things. I’m gonna miss you but your kiddos have gotten the best teacher ever. by @brielle_crps
