Treatment Update🎗️There is a certain kind of grief in stepping away from the life you’ve built, but sometimes there is no choice. At the end of July, I had to step away from work completely — a job I poured my heart into for six years. It’s surreal to think that in my early twenties I’m navigating the reality of worsening health and forced to pause the life I once took for granted.

The past few months have been a whirlwind of emotions and challenges as my health worsens and I focus on healing and tackling the overwhelming costs of ongoing treatment. But through it all, I hold onto hope. In January, I will be returning to Arkansas to undergo treatment at the Spero Clinic—the only place where I truly began to see progress.

As part of preparing for this next step, I ask for your prayers. Prayers for provision, prayers that I’m able to find affordable housing (If you happen to know of any resources, or someone who could help, please reach out), prayers for healing, prayers for hope, prayers for peace.

Thank you for being by my side on this journey. 💜 Thank you for your prayers, for those of you who keep checking in, those of you who have come just to hang out in my room with me, and those who have sacrificed financially to support me.

Heartbroken but thankful; hurting yet continuing to heal.

If you have been following my journey, you know that I have spent the last year in Arkansas receiving medical treatment with the hopes of going into remission from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and several other comorbidities. Before I started, I was fully aware that remission was not a guarantee, yet, I was so hopeful that I would be leaving Arkansas after 3-4 months of treatment in complete remission; unfortunately, that just wasn’t the case.

Through hours and hours of careful consideration and prayer, I believe it is time to come home. Though I am confused and heartbroken, I am trusting that God knows more than what I can see. I walked through this year with so much hope, and I would be lying if I said leaving hasn’t caused that to waiver, but I am continuing to hold onto Jesus as my hope, celebrate all wins that have been accomplished, and believe that miracles are still possible.

I am beyond grateful for the treatment that I have been able to receive and the team that has worked diligently beside and for me. There are SO many areas in which I have made drastic improvements and I will never regret the time or money spent here in treatment. In anticipation of going home, I have worked with my team and we have come up with an at home treatment plan with which I can continue pursuing remission with, and if needed, I know I can always come back in the future.

Although I am leaving Arkansas without obtaining complete remission, I am leaving with more knowledge about how to deal with my health, with lower pain and better function, with a medical team that has fought and continues to fight for me, with people that have turned into family, and with a with a community that understands.

The last 8 years, and specifically the last 5, have been the hardest and most lonely I’ve ever walked through, and this diagnosis has impacted my life in every way. Though I wish more than anything that this part of my story was over, I’m choosing to believe it will be one day.

So, I am heartbroken that this journey continues but I am thankful for the progress and for the people who have fought continuously for me🤍
