🏔️ The majestic peaks of Gilgit-Baltistan are under threat. While speaking on climate change, Syed Jawad Hussain Rizvi highlights a crisis unfolding at the “Third Pole” .

⚠️ Home to over 13,000 glaciers—including the iconic Baltoro—this region is a critical freshwater source for millions . But rising temperatures are accelerating melt, creating dangerous Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs) and threatening communities .

The 2022 floods were a stark warning of our climate vulnerability . Experts predict up to a 57% glacier mass decline by 2100 if we don’t act .

We need urgent action, strengthened monitoring, and support for community-led adaptation . The future of Gilgit-Baltistan hangs in the balance.

Let’s amplify this voice! 🌱
