🏔️ SKARDU IS BEAUTIFUL BUT ARE WE PROTECTING ITS BEAUTY?

Skardu is known for its majestic mountains, breathtaking landscapes, and untouched natural beauty. But what happens when litter, visual pollution, and wall chalking by hotels and businesses start ruining the very views that attract visitors? 💔

Mountains are not billboards. Our natural landscapes deserve respect, not walls covered in advertisements and commercial messages.

Tourism should enhance the beauty of a destination, not destroy it. As tourism grows in Skardu, we must also take responsibility for protecting its environment, culture, and identity.

But the real question is: Who is responsible?
🏔️ The hotels and businesses?
🏔️ The authorities responsible for regulation?
🏔️ Or all of us who remain silent?

As someone from Skardu, I believe these issues deserve attention. In the coming days, I’ll be highlighting more of these concerns because loving our home also means speaking up when something is wrong.

Development is necessary, but not at the cost of our natural beauty. ❤️‍🩹

Let’s make tourism in Skardu more responsible, sustainable, and respectful of the place we call home.

| A meaningful action and positive change in the mountains. 🏔️🌿 |

Today, AAAS Welfare Foundation X Mountasia conducted a Clean Drive at Ringchan Rock, taking a practical step toward protecting our natural environment and promoting community responsibility.

As part of the initiative, we installed a locally handmade dustbin, supporting local craftsmanship while creating opportunities for community members to generate sustainable income through their skills.

We also shared a message of Women Empowerment, because when women rise, families become stronger, communities progress, and society moves forward.

Furthermore, we explored ways to transform usable waste into a potential resource for the people of Manthal Village, particularly during the harsh winter months—turning waste into opportunity through responsible management.

This is the change we believe in: protecting nature, empowering people, supporting local communities, and turning challenges into opportunities.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, supported, contributed, and stood with us. Special Thanks to Our Valued Tourist Guests @parkhaijaz for joining hands with us and becoming a meaningful part of this initiative. Your presence and encouragement make every step toward a cleaner and stronger community more meaningful.

Alhamdulillah — a truly meaningful and memorable day in the mountains. 🏔️🌿

Today, we had the privilege of conducting a memorable Clean Drive at Ringchan Rock, where we took a practical step toward protecting our natural surroundings and strengthening our local community.

As part of the initiative, we installed a locally handmade dustbin, crafted by members of the local community. This initiative is not only about cleanliness—it is also about uplifting local communities, creating opportunities, and supporting sustainable sources of income through locally made products.

We also had the opportunity to share a message of Women Empowerment—because when women rise, families grow stronger, communities rise, and societies move forward.

In addition, we worked toward creating a source of usable waste material for the people of Manthal Village, particularly as a potential source of fuel during the harsh winter months. What may be considered waste by some can become a valuable resource when managed responsibly.

This is what community-driven change looks like: protecting nature, empowering people, creating opportunities, and turning challenges into solutions.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us, stood with us, contributed their time, and shared their love. Your support gives these initiatives greater meaning and strength.
