Just popping in to introduce myself—and the star you’re really here to meet, Bug.

About me:
💜 My name is Brianna Jett.
🩵I live in Chicago.
✨I graduated from the University of Iowa and have an MFA in Writing from VCFA’s Writing for Children and Young Adults program.
🖋️I started writing poetry in the 6th grade, but I went to college for Journalism. I produced the morning news at a tv station for a few years before going back to school to study fiction writing.
❤️My favorites when I was 16: 📺 Fringe 📚Alison Croggon’s Books of Pellinor
❤️My favorites now: 📺 Anything that makes me laugh📚Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir; Nettle and Bone by T. Kingfisher.

About Bug:
🐞 Meet Ladybug. Her friends call her Bug.
🩵She was born in Minnesota, but is growing up in the big city.
🐾She has not graduated from anything, because she does not like to be trained. She would prefer to train me.
📖She prefers eating books to reading them.
📺Doesn’t really watch tv, unless I put on Phil Collins. She barks at Phil.
🥚Bug’s favorites: Eating cucumbers, trash, and eggs. by @brijett

Couldn’t have had more fun at ALA if I tried. I ran into to many old friends, made so many new ones, signed so many books, and listened to so many amazing panels. Speaking of panels—Markelle and Don, thank you for being such a joy to chat with. And thank you @pagestreetya and @macmillanusa for bringing me along the largest, and coolest, book thing I’ve ever been to. by @brijett

Portland, you were so great that I forgot to take more pictures. 24 hours isn’t nearly long enough. Literary Arts, you make a mean swamp drink and put on a great book event. Thank you to everyone who came out last night!! by @brijett

Last night’s book event was all joy, and I owe so many people for making it possible. Thank you Seattle and Third Place Books and Lish and all my friends (new and old) for welcoming me to the west coast and making this event an absolute delight. It’s surreal to see my book on shelves across the country, but it’s the feeling of being surrounded by love and friendship that I’ll take home with me. by @brijett

Join me in June!

I’ll be criss-crossing the country with my slug stamp, ready to sign and stamp books, talk about Under a Carnivore Sky, and show anyone who asks approximately 100000 pictures of Bug.

💜💜 I’ve got a booked summer of bookish events, so stay tuned for July and August announcements 💜💜 by @brijett
