The little things that make a BIG difference in your sets, retention, and confidence as a lash artist.

Save this one. You’ll thank yourself later. đŸ€

Before you blame your adhesive
check how you’re taking care of it

Your adhesive is only as good as the environment you’re keeping it in! Proper storage, monitoring your humidity, and replacing your bottle regularly can make a HUGE difference in your lash routine.

And if you’re still using the same bottle from 3 months ago
 girl. 😭

Our Adhesive Monthly Club makes it easy to stay stocked with fresh adhesive delivered automatically every month.

Save this as your reminder to check when you last opened your glue! đŸ€

Your retention problems might be starting before you even pick up your tweezers.

A beautiful set means nothing if your extensions don’t have a clean surface to bond to.

Leftover makeup, oils, and buildup can interfere with your adhesive, which is why a proper lash cleanse should NEVER be skipped.

Our Clarity Cleanser is a staple for a reason. đŸ«§

Save this for the next time you’re troubleshooting retention!

Pretty lashes don’t automatically mean healthy lashes.

You can have the most beautiful lash set in the world, but if your isolation isn’t right, you’re putting your client’s natural lashes at risk.

Stickies aren’t just an aesthetic issue. They can cause discomfort, tension, and damage as natural lashes grow at different rates.

Take your time, check your work, and NEVER sacrifice lash health for speed.

Your clients are trusting you with their natural lashes. Make sure you’re protecting them. đŸ€

Just because your client wants 18mm mega volume doesn’t mean their natural lashes can handle it. 😭

One of the biggest lessons you’ll learn as a lash artist is that customization is EVERYTHING.

Length, diameter, and weight should always be chosen based on what your client’s natural lashes can safely support.

Sometimes being a good lash artist means explaining why a certain look isn’t the best option and creating something just as beautiful that’s actually right for them.

Healthy lashes = happy clients = long-term clients. đŸ€

Some lash trends had their moment
And some have definitely overstayed their welcome.

We asked some of the industry’s best what lash trend they’re officially leaving behind in 2026 and the answers were ALL over the place

Some we fully agree with. Some we are not so sure about.

Watch until the end and then tell us yours because we know there are more that needs to be added to the list.

The same map can look completely different from one client to the next.

Here’s how to choose a map based on your client’s eyes →

FIRST, DETERMINE THEIR EYE SHAPE

Before choosing a map, look at the full picture.

Consider their:
Shape ‱ Position ‱ Structure ‱ Size

Eye shape is only the beginning. The goal is to understand what you’re working with before deciding how you want to style it.

UPTURNED vs. DOWNTURNED

Look at where the outer corner sits compared to the inner corner.

Upturned: the outer corner sits higher.
Try: Natural Sweep, Cat Eye, or Open Eye

Downturned: the outer corner sits lower.
Try: Natural Sweep or Cat Eye

Don’t forget: curl choice can completely change the amount of lift you create.

CLOSE SET vs. WIDE SET

Pay attention to the space between the eyes.

Close Set:
Natural Sweep or Cat Eye can help draw the focus outward.

Wide Set:
A Reverse Cat Eye can bring more emphasis toward the inner/center portion of the eye.

It’s all about creating balance.

PROTRUDING vs. DEEP SET

This one is easier to see from the side.

Protruding: the eye sits more forward.
Try: Natural Sweep or Cat Eye

Deep Set: the eye sits farther back beneath the brow bone.
Try: Natural Sweep or Open Eye + a tighter curl

THE 4 CORE MAPS

Natural Sweep: gradual increase for a soft, elongated effect.

Cat Eye: longest lengths toward the outer eye.

Open Eye: longest lengths near the center to visually open the eye.

Reverse Cat Eye: longer lengths shifted toward the inner/center eye.

Knowing the maps is step one. Knowing when to use them is the skill.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

There isn’t one “perfect” map for every client.

Use their shape + position + structure + size to give yourself a starting point, then customize from there.

SAVE THIS SLIDE
for your next client consultation.

DON’T JUST MEMORIZE MAPS. LEARN HOW TO CUSTOMIZE THEM.

A great lash artist doesn’t just know what map to use, they understand why they’re using it.

Natural lashes, growth direction, curl, length, eye anatomy, and your client’s desired result all matter.

We break down the full styling process inside the Ultimate Lash Course. đŸ€ by @brilliantlashpro
