Welcome to Renewal Church!
Our mission is to make disciples who bring renewal for the glory of God and the good of the neighborhood. Our vision is to experience a multiethnic, reproducing movement of God in our neighborhoods.

We meet right in West Chicago at the ARC Center every Sunday morning at 10am.

If you’ve been around awhile, we’re so glad you’re here.
If you’re new, welcome! We hope you’ll experience renewal with us. by @bringrenewal

Renewal Church was planted in October 2015 with the mission of being a church not just in the neighborhood but for the good of the neighborhood. We desire to build bridges between the racial divides that pervade our community and the surrounding cities. This is why we desire to see a multiethnic reproducing
movement of God in our neighborhoods.

Whether you’re new to faith, have walked with Jesus your whole life, or are healing from past religious experiences, Renewal is a community where you can come as you are, find belonging, and explore faith. We want to invite you to join Renewal.

We gather as a community every Sunday at 10 a.m. at the ARC Center (201 w National St.) in West Chicago.

Breath of God,

You see the dry places in us, the ones we hide and the ones we’ve stopped hoping for. We can’t make ourselves live, but you can. Speak your word over us again. Put together what has come apart, and fill us with your Spirit, so that we rise as people who know you are the Lord. May we find our life and our wholeness in you.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

If there’s anything better than going to school, it’s hanging out with your friends and eating a bunch of food instead. 🍔 🍭 🍣

Okay, you still have to go to school 😭, but at least there’s Before the Bell. It’s a chance for our high school students to connect on late start days for a low-stress, casual hangout. Before the Bell is so casual, there’s not even an official meeting place or date. It just kinda happens sometimes. Think of it as like a not-so-secret menu Renewal Students activity.

Speaking of Renewal Students, middle and high schoolers meet every Wednesday from 7-8:30 PM at the ARC in West Chicago! Be there!

Friends and new faces gathered in homes and backyards for the start of Core Values Groups (CVG): a 5-week experience where we dig into each of the four values of Renewal Church— what they mean, where we see them in Scripture, and what it looks like to practice them in our everyday lives and neighborhoods as we follow the way of Jesus together. 🏠 🏡 🏠

Whether you’ve been at Renewal for ten years, ten weeks, or ten minutes - this is for you. These groups are one of the best ways to build real friendships and shape where we’re headed as a church.

There’s still time to sign up! Visit the site below for more information today!

Jesus,

You send your sun and rain on everyone, the grateful and the ungrateful, the ones who love you and the ones who don’t. Thank you for loving us that way, before we ever deserved it.

Make our yes a true yes and our no a true no. When we’re wronged, give us the courage not to strike back. When we’re asked for one mile, give us the grace to go two. And for the people who are hardest for us to love, soften our hearts enough to pray for them.

We can’t do this on our own, so make us more like you, form us into your likeness through the power of the Holy Spirit. Let our church be a place where love doesn’t keep score.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Dehumanizing and displaced anger is not compatible with the Holy Spirit. Grudges and conflict dry us up into dust and clutter our hearts with cobwebs.

Matthew 5:23-24 tells us to shine a light on the darkness of hatred and toxic venom tangled up inside of us.

“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.”

Make the call. Send the text. Let it go.

To give you an idea of how much fun we had at Renewal Kids Step-Up Day, a family walked up to our check-in counter to ask if this where the birthday party was. 🎉 😂 Your kids were positively BEAMING with smiles from breakout Bible lessons to games and crafts. Oh, and some goodie bags for good measure. 🍭

While we can’t promise an 8-bit wonderland EVERY Sunday, you can count on Renewal to provide a safe, welcoming environment with vetted volunteers who are committed to loving the Lord alongside these terrific kiddos. Contact abby@bringrenewal.com to learn more today!
