Posted @withregram • @losbanosfire One recent early morning, Los Banos Fire Department responded to a call that required a mother to be transported to the hospital. Engine 1 crew remained on scene and assisted her children with getting ready for school until family could arrive. I got to surprise the boy at his school the other day after working 20 days. In total I’m working 28 of 32. I don’t mind the work. I’m beyond blessed to get to do what I do for a living. But the sad reality is our families suffer. This also comes as we are buying and selling a house. Yes, first world problems. But he doesn’t understand. He asks why daddy has to work so much but at the end of the day all he knows is I’m gone. He was so shy when I came to get him. Almost like he didn’t know how to react. 😁 by @brithatguy

Long rant….

So last night, going out to dinner with the wife and boy. Was waiting for a parking spot. A lady with her daughter had to go around me. As we are getting out of the truck she says to me, “you’re a fucking asshole!” I said “excuse me?” She said you took up the entire lane. I explained I was in a truck and couldn’t really move anymore. She continued. I finally told her to go fuck herself and that I’m sorry I took an entire minute out of her day.

As we are walking into the restaurant she had met up with her husband who had been waiting for her. She starts pointing and says “he’s the one”. I’m like really? You seriously want to continue this argument? The husband shakes my hand and says let’s all just calm down. He said we are with our family’s and can just talk about it. I said exactly, we are with our family’s and his wife shouldn’t have cussed at me in the parking lot. His wife’s still running her mouth. (Something tells me this wasn’t his first time dealing with this and I kinda felt sorry for him) I explained to them both, yet again, I was in a full size truck and couldn’t go anywhere and that I was truly sorry I inconvenienced her so badly. The daughter was embarrassed, the husband was embarrassed, the lady continued to run her mouth. He finally told her to shut up and that they didn’t need this drama. (That went over really well 😁)I told him to get a handle on his wife and wished him a good night then proceeded to hold the door for them as they entered the restaurant lol Ok, rant over. 🤪 by @brithatguy

Liam’s first day of TK. He’s been so excited this past week to start. (Right until we pulled up to school.) 😁 But he persevered and ended up having the best day ever. His teacher was amazing and he made lots of new friends. Many thanks to his mama for getting him all set up as I’ve been working so much the past few weeks. 🙏🏼 by @brithatguy

The real Los Banos....
It’s a place where Annual National Night Out celebrations can occur and people like Los Banos Fire Battalion Chief Brian Thompson can be seen engaging in a spontaneous friendly water squirting skirmish with local children. Los Banos is fortunate to have firefighters who care as much for people as they do about their job duties.
