Two views from the air, two moments on the ground, and one very special handover.

Meet VL3 652, G-JMBV - the first VL3 in the UK.

Handed over on 26 September 2026, this aircraft looks every bit as good in the air as it does on the ground. Her paint scheme combines Porsche Dark Grey, Porsche Silver, and Honda Cool Turquoise, finished with a four-blade DUC Tiger propeller with colour-matched tips.

Inside, G-JMBV has a full Garmin setup and redundancy built in for added peace of mind. Representatives from the BMAA and JMB Aircraft joined on the day to congratulate the happy new owner.

A brilliant day, and a proud moment for everyone involved. Congratulations to the new owner of G-JMBV - we hope she brings you many happy hours in the air.

But what happens if the engine stops? No problem.

Modern microlights are light, manoeuvrable, and in the event of the engine stopping can easily glide to a landing

When learning to fly, this is a key skill and is taught as part of the BMAA syllabus ✏️

Before the aircraft takes shape, the team needs to learn how to build it. Our first CFC Build Training Session, delivered with the National Flying Laboratory Centre (NFLC), brought the Build Cohort together for hands-on training in the processes, tools and techniques we’ll use throughout the build.

From the workshop to the first component, this is where the build begins.

Did you know we made history at the Popham STOL Competition?

We proudly had the first electric Flexwing compete in a STOL competition anywhere in the world, flown by pilot Jez Walsh!

Jez took the win in the STOL UK BMAA Microlight Flexwing Class, achieving a best combined take-off and landing score of just 109m!
