They thought I wouldn’t survive Hood Day. 😂 Baby, I’m from Richmond, California — born and raised. ✦

I don’t live there anymore, but this city raised me. It taught me how to move, how to stand on business, and how to carry myself no matter what room I walk into. Just because the neighborhood was rough doesn’t mean I came out rough. I came out sharp. I came out proud.

I survived cancer because of everything this city taught me. That grit, that fight, that refuse-to-fold — Richmond made me💪

💇🏽‍♀️ Losing your hair can be challenging, but it grows back. It makes you reflect on your flaws and, in the end, love yourself from within. We’ve all been self-conscious about something, and if it seems bad, it gets better.

Wouldn’t be right to start this month without thanking the ones who helped me start Black Girl Cancer Club 💗

Three years ago, I had no idea I’d be building an organization like this. I didn’t know where it would take me, or that I’d meet so many amazing people along the way.

So I’m kicking off this month by introducing you to the reason it all started: the girls who were with me from the very beginning, the ones who pushed me to make this real. 🫶🏾

More to come. Stay tuned, because we’re just getting started.

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Prepare to be pinked the hell out. 🎀💕

Sisterhood looks like this.
I’m still in awe that @eelfenbein and @pausitiveoutlook of Under the Sister invited me to speak at the launch of @underthehoodofbreasthealth. Rooms like this remind me why we keep telling our stories. Breast health conversations save lives, and they hit different when they come from women who’ve been there.
Thank you for holding space for us. This is only the beginning. 🎗️

Standing in a room full of women who’ve been where I’ve been never gets old.

I told them what I’ll tell you: I felt fine. I looked fine. I had no family history and no warning. And I still got the call.

That’s why Black Girl Cancer Club exists. Not to scare you — to make sure you’re not walking into this blind like I did.

Who in your life needs to hear this? Tag her. 🩷

“Why Now” is finally here, and it’s personal.

For years I tried to figure out what would’ve made my health journey easier. The answer was simple — documenting it. Knowing my own body, my own history, my own patterns. Nobody handed me that. I had to learn the hard way.

Don’t be like me. Understand your health before you’re forced to.

In our community, we don’t talk about our health enough. It gets passed down as silence instead of knowledge. I want to pass down something different — for my family, for generations to generations.

So why now? Honestly — why not now?

The Why Now Journal is here to help you track it, understand it, and take charge of it. Link in bio. 📓

Losing my hair was one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through. I didn’t think it would grow back — but sis, it did. Condition it, hydrate it, and be patient with yourself. It grows back. @sheamoisture 🤎#ChemoHairJourney #blackgirlcancerclub #chemocurls #curlyhairroutine #blackgirlhair by @britmull

Chemo changed my hair. Chemo changed my texture. And yet — here we are. 🌱

After everything my body went through, I had to learn my hair all over again. New texture, new routine, new relationship.

The secret? Treat your hair like a plant. 🪴
💧 Water it. Hydrate it. Condition it. That’s it.

Chemo survivors — your hair CAN grow back. It just needs what every living thing needs: water and love.

Drop a 💧 if you needed to hear this today.
