Annual orange lights selfie 🧡✨ the past few weeks have been a whirlwind for @tylergtwombly and I! It was filled with friends, theater and art, and cats. We celebrated Tyler’s 40th birthday and our 5-year wedding anniversary (wedding photo at the end).

We both survived our first October weekend (THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO ADOPTED A PRINT!!). THE WOMAN IN BLACK opened at Ames Hall, and Tyler gave some amazing performances. I am so proud of him, and the whole cast & crew! Have you reserved your seat yet?! The l1nk is in my b10graphy.

I am so excited for the rest of the month and experiencing downtown Salem from the comfort of my little zen print burrow. Come say hi!

I couldn’t ask for a better partner to do all these crazy creative endeavors with, and certainly couldn’t do any of it without him 🥰

Trick-or-Treat! 🎃my Halloween block was a labor of love to bring these guys to life. Who doesn’t love a clown cat, or a frog dressed as a devil (or is it a devil dressed as a frog?!), a witchy owl, and a little guy riding a snail? I took inspiration from vintage Halloween postcards and of course my own resident black cat (Nemo), who makes a rare cameo in this video! Hope you love them, they’re available where things usually are! 🐈‍⬛🐸🦉🐁🐌🌝

I’ve seen a few reels lately of artists sharing their solution for these slippery pieces of plastic that we pull off our print sleeves. Some suggest putting a piece of tape on the table, which is fine, but my advice is to HARNESS THE POWER OF STATIC ELECTRICITY! ⚡️Here is my technique; I won’t be taking any questions. Thank you.

A new Luna moth 🦋🌙 this is the second Luna print I’ve done; I loved the first one but I’m on a bit of a mission to standardize the size of all my blocks, so it was time for a redux. It’s nice to revisit a creature again in the carving process. So much of my printmaking lately is carving the block once, for just a few hours, and then I only know it via printing. And, this composition is more in line with the celestial backgrounds I’ve been loving lately ✨

October 9 will always be a special day to me… the day we adopted Mars in 2015 🌙 I miss my best boy so much. Grateful for the time we had 🖤 Here he is in our first apartment together in Lynn, with a great view of decrepit mansions and the ocean. by @brittandmars

My trick-or-treaters are off on their candy quest! 🍭Thank you to everyone who has adopted these guys so far. I have plenty more for the October season here in #SalemMA, and you can find them in other places around town too! Which little guy is your favorite? Cat Clown? 😸🤡 Devil Frog/Frog Devil? 🐸😈Witch Owl? 🧙🦉The rodent and her mighty steed?🐁🐌 The anxious moon? 🌝🫪

Thank you for all the love on my Trick-or-Treat! print 🎃There are still a few left on orange paper. I only made 8 and do not plan to print any more this season, but I do have plenty of other colors! This was such a fun and challenging block (multiple versions were created and failed) and I’m happy with how they came out! 🐈‍⬛🐸🦉🐁🐌🌝

I recently bought a pin vise to help make perfect little circles - and it works great! Here it is on my trick-or-treaters block (v.2; the first block had an unforgivable mistake and had to be chucked. Such is art! Always learning). This is a more comfortable tool to use than a hand drill, but you can only use small bits. Good enough for this project! 🎃🧡
