Two coasts. One question.

Why are so many busy professionals over 35 running on empty? 🤨

Dr. Serina Lewis, MD practices primary care in Maryland. I coach from San Diego. On Wednesday, November 4, we are putting both views into one LinkedIn Live.

Here is what we know going in. Sleep and cortisol, your main stress hormone, influence each other. Short sleep can raise it. High cortisol can make sleep harder. Add a packed calendar and a body that no longer bounces back like it did at 25, and exhaustion becomes the default setting.

Dr. Lewis will cover the medical side, including hormones. I will share what 15+ years of coaching, and the 3.5 to 5.5 hours a day I spend on my own body, taught me about building a foundation that holds up.

You will leave with better questions for your own doctor and a couple of changes you can start this week.

Know someone who keeps saying ā€œI’m just tiredā€? SHARE this with them today.

If a doctor has ever told you, ā€œthis is just something you’ll have to live with,ā€ I need you to read this.šŸ‘‡

I heard it too, over and over, for more than a decade.

At 25 a car accident left me with chronic pain, a traumatic brain injury, anxiety, insomnia, post-traumatic stress, and migraines that no pill could touch.

I’ve worked in the wellness space for over 20 years and was an Emergency Medical Technician for part of it, so I knew the ER inside and out. Then I became a patient in it, messed up like most that end up in there… and no one had a real answer for me.

Neurosurgeons wanted to fuse my neck and lower back. I said no, not yet!

I tried Western medicine and felt worse. I tried Eastern medicine and it helped, just not enough. I spent over a decade frustrated, exhausted, and losing hope that anything would actually work for my body.

If you’ve ever dealt with a major health issue, you know that it touches everything. Family, your self-esteem, both personal and professional relationships… YOUR entire future!

What finally worked was focusing on my mindset, spending time in nature, daily movement, real food, restorative sleep, and stress relief.

When I paired that with the drug-free medical devices and wellness AI that gave me real data instead of guesses, the needle finally started to move!

We’re all living in a fast-paced, instant-gratification world… and what I learned was that that alone was harming me and my cortisol mattered as much as any new treatment I tried.

Then it was just a matter of figuring out the daily recipe what worked for me and creating my personalized ā€˜system’ that worked even on the days that I didn’t.

That’s the exact model I now coach people 35 yrs and older through, built around their real schedule, and their real life.

DM @brittanylwilson if you want to end this year on a different note than you started it.

Save this post so you have it when you’re ready to make that dream real life!

I might look like a normal girl waiting for her plane. āœˆļø

But, I’m not doing a normal thing.

That’s my arm in an AVACEN device šŸ„:
FDA-cleared, class II medical device, same category as a CPAP device, which means it flies free & TSA doesn’t blink.

What it’s actually doing: enhancing MICROCIRCULATION… the blood flow through your smallest vessels, the ones that get sluggish when you sit for hours in a metal tube at 35,000 feet.šŸ«€šŸ©ø

Not huge like a sauna. No giant chamber like HBOT. No large panels like red light therapy beds —> It fits in my carry on. 🧳

Here’s the part that matters most to me: within minutes my body shifts out of fight or flight and into rest and digest.

āœ… Parasympathetic on, sympathetic off. That’s not a vibe, that’s measurable nervous system physiology.

Translation: no pre flight anxiety spiral. Less jet lag when I land. And I can sit for a six hour flight without my back & hips locking up.

I used to dread travel days. Now they’re part of my longevity routine, not a setback to it.

Comment ā€œyesā€ if you know your body already needs a reset before you even board the plane!šŸ‘‡

Your walking pace may tell researchers more about your age than your face does. 🧐

So here’s my answer to the hypothetical:
FEEL 10 years younger!

Why? Feeling younger is strength, balance, energy, and stride. Those can be measured and trained.

A Lancet study of about 140,000 adults found weaker grip strength tracked with a higher risk of dying from any cause, and it predicted that risk better than blood pressure did.

Grip and walking pace are gauges. Your whole body is the engine, and engine’s need maintenance, right?! Why is it we take such good care of our cars - oil, tires, gas… but we don’t do much for our bodies? šŸ¤”

Here’s my proof. When I moved to San Diego in 2024, I couldn’t walk two miles two days in a row.

Today, at full speed, I walk about 3.5 miles per hour. I track it every day.

I started with the foundation. Walking with intention, daily. Strength work my body can handle. Stretching whenever I feel I need it. Whole food. Restorative sleep.

Then I measured it & added recovery tools so I could move faster... and recovery quicker!

Always get clearance from your doctor before starting new physical activity.

FOLLOW @brittanylwilson to see my numbers as I retest them.

SAVE this as your starting checklist.

I remember the moment I almost stopped searching for my miracle.

If you didn’t already know this, I was in a major car accident in my mid-20’s, and I did what anyone would do. I chased the fix.

About 60 providers. Every treatment you’ve heard of, and plenty you haven’t. Some helped a little. Most didn’t.

There was a stretch where I was just tired of hoping.

Here’s what I know now. My miracle didn’t show up in one appointment. It showed up in layers.

🌿 Walking with intention, daily
🌿 Real food that tastes delicious
🌿 Sleep I protect like a client meeting
🌿 My coach taking me back to how our ancestors moved

Then I added technology on top of that foundation.

I’m 42 and I will always have physical limitations due to my permanent injuries… BUT... and it’s a BIG BUT… I dance, I walk the beach, and I want to help you skip the years I lost trying to figure it out in a broken healthcare system.

I think about it every single day. If I had stopped searching, none of this exists.

Comment if you agree that the search is worth it.

Two and a half years ago, I moved to San Diego to start a business with a partner, not knowing anyone here.

I had lived in Orange County for 22 years. I drove down from Newport Beach for six months before I made the move.

Asking for help to finally get me over the finish line felt scary. But, I did it anyway.

My coach helped me rebuild my body, one simple, daily habit at a time. Then I started reconnecting with old friends, and making new ones.

Here’s the science behind that. A well-known meta-analysis of 148 studies linked stronger social ties to roughly 50% better odds of survival. Connection is a healthspan habit, right next to walking and sleep!

So here is what I tell my clients:

🌿 Ask for help, even when you’re scared
🌿 Reconnect with an old friend or make a new one
🌿 Try something you’ve never heard of before
🌿 Relax and slow down, daily

It’s never TOO late to build your life the way you want it.

I’m 42 and the scariest move I ever made was the one that changed EVERYTHING… šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

I lived in Orange County for 22 years… since I was a freshman in college at UC Irvine.

Same roads. Same routines. Comfortable. Safe.

When I was injured badly at 25, what followed was years of surviving, not thriving. My neck, back, and shoulders were messed up, and I was tired of starting over.

Then I lost my dad, tragically. That loss & grief set me back a couple of years as far as my progress went.

In November 2023, I started working with Coach Gerald. For six months, I drove down from Newport Beach to San Diego just to train.

Then I decided if I was serious about working with him, I needed to move. So I packed up and moved to downtown San Diego, where I didn’t know a soul.

I was grieving. I was exhausted. And I had no idea if I’d just spent everything I had on a move I’d have to undo.

But, I kept showing up. Taking walks with intention. Slightly altering my diet. Getting outside every single day, even on the days I really didn’t want to.

Grief doesn’t disappear. You learn to carry it in a stronger body.

Two and a half years later…

San Diego is home. I play at the beach or the park every day. Coronado Island, the bay, the sun, and the salty air. And I get to help people rebuild the same way I did!

Here’s what nobody tells you about comfort. You pay for it with your energy, your body, and your years.

Your body feels it too. Chronic stress keeps ā€œcortisolā€ running high, and that wears you down from the inside out!

Some of y’all need to get uncomfortable… on purpose. 🌿

Nature got it right… we just forgot to listen.

Hi! If you’re new here, let’s get you up to speed…

At 42, I feel behind EVERYONE my age. šŸƒā€ā™‚ļøšŸƒ ā€¦šŸƒā€ā™€ļøšŸ’Ø

I was injured badly at 25 and what followed was 15 years of surviving, not thriving.

I’m an Aries. ā™ˆļø
Fast, quick, on point, always picking up speed.
So my 5 year plan is simple… make up for ALL of it. šŸ“ˆ

Pain like mine makes you want to escape it.
So many people fall into that dark hole and never climb out.
On a lot of days, I didn’t think I would.

But, I did. šŸ’Ŗ

Now that I’m healthy, I want to pass every limit anyone ever put on me.
And I want to help you skip the years I lost.

You have more power over your health than anyone told you.
Over your whole life, really.

I believe I’m here for a reason… and this is it. 🌿

What’s one thing on YOUR 5 year plan? Drop it below. I read every comment.

Overachiever YOU is going to fight this quote. I know, because I did too.

When life falls apart, your first move is to fix it. Fast. šŸ’Ø

Push harder. Skip sleep. No days off. White-knuckle through.

I did that for years after my car accident mid-20’s. Pain doesn’t respond to a to-do list.

What finally moved me forward?

Slowing down long enough to listen.

That’s the ā€œnext level of awarenessā€ in this quote. Noticing that your sleep, your stress, and the way you move are all sending you signals.

Your cortisol is talking. Your joints are talking. Your energy at 3pm is talking. Are you listening? šŸ‘‚

Once I listened, I built a routine around my real life - a balance between what I needed & could fit in, daily.

The biggest bangsšŸ’„ are simple. Gait-speed walking. Organic, whole foods that taste delicious. Protecting my sleep so it actually restores me. Sunshine, ocean time, and a little freestyle dance. Intentional mindset.

Then I added the tech on top.

Nature got it right… we just forgot to listen.

My biggest flex… I’ve sat in EVERY seat. šŸŖ‘

The client who wouldn’t listen.
The client who finally did.
The coach who gets you there faster.

If you’re new here, let’s get you up to speed…

A car accident at 25 left me with 17 years of chronic pain. A surgeon wanted to fuse my neck. I said no.

Then I became the client who wouldn’t listen.

My body needed to move to heal. But moving HURT. So I moved less… and the less I moved, the worse it got.

A total CATCH-22 situation.

Every time someone said ā€œkeep going,ā€ everything in me said ā€œstop, you’ll make it worse.ā€

Then I started working with Coach Gerald.

He’s been training & coaching clients for over 45 years. He got right next to me and SHOWED me, step by step, that my body could handle more than my pain was telling me.

That’s where I learned the difference between hurt and harm.

And that’s when I finally listened.

I moved through the discomfort, guided every step of the way, and found the relief I’d been chasing for years.

My pain came down. My anxiety lessened. Depression disappeared. Stress, relieved. Restorative sleep returned. And I got my life back!

Everything I thought I knew about the body changed. Naturally, my coaching technique & style did too. Now I coach the people I used to be.

Pain.
Sleep.
Stress.
Mindset.
Movement.

And once the foundation is solid, I add the recovery tech I’ve tested on myself first. 🌿 + šŸ„

Please don’t try to push through trying to figure out the pain or stress alone. Guided is the key word.

Always get clearance from your doctor before starting new physical activity or treatments.

Got a plan you keep quitting because it hurts?

Parents, I need your honest take on this one.

Something has gone missing in my lifetime.

The outdoor childhood. šŸŒ³šŸ›

My rule growing up was simple. If it wasn’t raining and it wasn’t dark, I was outside.

My parents were protecting my health long before I understood it.

Now look at where we are.

Childhood obesity at a record high: about 1 in 5 kids, per the February 2026 CDC data. šŸ“ˆ

Kids’ faces all over social media.

Parents unsure if school is even safe.

That’s a lot of change in one generation.

I believe much of it traces back to one thing. We disconnected from nature. Our bodies evolved outside, moving, in sunlight. Kids still need that. So do we. 🌿

I’m doing my part every single day. I’m asking you to join me.

This is a TEAM effort. Nobody gets where they’re going alone. It took everything I had inside me, and it took a village.

Comment if you agree, and tell me one rule your parents had that you’re bringing back.

Therapy is great. But have you tried a long walk in the trees with your person? 🌿

Hi! If you’re new here, let’s get you up to speed…

This is me and my coach, @geraldjjoseph He’s my partner and favorite early morning walking buddy.

We’re in San Francisco exploring Golden Gate Park here. No agenda. No screens. Just trails, tall trees, and a whole lot of talking. šŸ—£ļø

After 15 years of coaching, here’s what I’ve noticed…

The best conversations happen side by side, moving. I like playing catch with the football. šŸˆ

Your body is busy, so your mind opens up. The hard stuff comes out easier on a trail.

And the trees are doing work too. A Stanford study found a 90-minute walk in nature quieted ā€œrumination,ā€ that loop of replaying the same worry over and over. The same walk along a busy road didn’t. 🤯

I’m a BIG fan of therapy. Keep your therapist! Then add the walk.

Nature got it right… we just forgot to listen.

Who’s your walking person? Tag them below šŸ‘‡
