We Are Not Okay (2025) I feel this deeply. If I had to choose only one, this would be my favorite moment in the film. The way the organ weaves in between the innocence of their curiosity. The way the church looms, imposing, yet crowned with symbols of hope. The way the younger sister interprets their mother’s absence as the substance of things unseen and hoped for. That’s faith. Today we held a private screening of “We Are Not Okay” at AMC NETWORKS in collaboration with TDE and the Future Of Film is Female 🎬 This is the film that keeps on giving 🙌🏾 Such an amazing honor to screen at AMC and to answer questions about the film, connection, and my career/what’s next! We closed it out perfectly with a powerful message from Nikki Love that had me and others in literal tears! So much love to you Nikki! 💕 Thank you Fetle, Ebony, Nikki, and Naila over at AMC and thank you forever and ever to @iamhwood @topdawgent and @futureoffilmisfemale Starting April off in so many magical ways!
