Today’s news of Dolly’s passing hit me as if she was a family member. I suppose, in some ways she became that over the years. Not just an icon in our family, but a woman who aligned with the other women in my family and carried the same faith, morals, values, hard work ethics and zest for life that we have! She was woven in and throughout our lives over the years.

My Granmomma was a huge fan, so naturally my mom and I were too. I remember laying on her floor watching “Smokey Mountain Christmas” every year. Her story…was one I think my Granmomma related to in many ways. “From Rags to Riches” and butterflies were found all throughout my grandmother’s journals. I believe Dolly was a major inspiration to her, empowering her to not only dance, but to work hard, pray harder and enjoy life to it’s fullest - to walk through the hard times with your head lifted as high as in the good.

It was one of my life goals to meet Dolly, and while I didn’t get the chance to do that here on earth, I hope my vision of heaven is real and if so, I will one day! I have joy knowing that she believed in and loved Jesus and her sparkle and party is now ringing out in heaven.

I will never be ashamed to be my authentic self, to wear my diamonds and rhinestones proudly, to be bold, to never quit trying, to be a light, to dance, to LIVE! Thank you DOLLY, for being one of my life’s greatest inspirations.

Had the best boat day with friends!! My parent’s first time on the Snake River, surfing action, gorgeous views and out of the water right before a storm rolled in. Made for a stunning sunset 🌅

Recently we had the pleasure of experiencing The Shared Table, a private 5 course wine pairing dinner at The Avery, helmed by Chef Lee Anne Wong (Honolulu’s @kokoheadcafe) and Chef Cal Elliott. Two James Beard nominated talents, one incredible surf and turf inspired menu.

Every course was a study in balance, but the standout for me was the grilled Snake River Farms Kurobuta pork belly, paired with cured watermelon and watermelon pickle! 🍉The richness of the pork against that bright, acidic watermelon pickle was next level.

Nights like this are my jam! Watching chefs at the top of their craft build a menu that tells a story, course by course.

My Dad - will always be my hero and my dance partner. As a little girl I would stand on his feet and we’d dance around the kitchen and living room. He has always loved to dance and Im certain that’s where I got it from…including the facial expressions 😂

He’s never let me down.
Always been there when I needed him.
I’ve seen him battle life’s tragedies and temptations- and come out on the other side- stronger in faith and action.

Thanks for being the dad you were called to be for me🥰

To the man I chose to do life with- supporting you as a father has probably been the most challenging, however the most rewarding collectively. You lead with faith first, exemplify unconditional love, provide from sunrise to sunset and always put your children’s best interest above your own.
