helloooooo instagram and facebook! as many people know, my birthday was yesterday, turning 19! an incredible birthday present would be to help me march the Bluecoats again this summer. last summer meant the world to me, and i cannot wait to go back. with dues increasing every single year, i can’t do this alone. anything is appreciated, and please share this post so it can get around!

year 1 of college…
what an odd year? like i’m kind of appalled?
not just in the way that it’s college, but in the way that i got to feel something this year i didn’t feel once in high school…
peace.
high school was a hellhole, but this year brought a nice “closing the book” feeling to the first 18 years of my life i didn’t expect to get to feel. and for once, i feel happy about a year of schooling.
the best piece of advice this year was “taste your coffee”. i started pondering this after i heard it, and realized something about my life.
for so long, ive spent my time looking towards the next thing, and never stopped to realize the special things i had right in front of me. corny, for sure, but for all of this year i wasn’t “tasting my coffee”. i wasn’t embracing the mundane of my days, just going through them, more peaceful and happy, but not stopping to realize how special this time is. i was missing bluecoats so much i forgot to taste my coffee here in eau claire. but hindsight is 20/20, and now i can see how special this year was to me. thank you.
through all the written theory lectures slept through, all the balatro played in global music, and all the weezer i wrote into my written theory final, i found the people that support me.

2025… a year of incredible growth.
2025 was filled with immense growth in every direction. i was faced with challenges i’d never dreamed of, and also an endless amount of reward for those challenges.
as i lie in bed awake, the memories of this year keeping me up, i look back on everything that happened this year. 2025 was simultaneously the worst, yet best year of my life. i lost a lot, but i gained so much in every aspect of my life. thank you 2025, thank you bluecoats, thank you college friends with the funny group chat nickname that will not be shared publically, thank you family, thank you rcr, thank you kwik trip, and everyone else who made this year special.
let’s make 2026 even more special.

grand nationals/season recap/friend appreciation!
i love lucas oil. 6 performances there (chest cam coming soon!), and i still never get sick of the feelings it brings me. i couldn’t ask for a better group of friends to share it with. this season initially was about keeping equipment in my hands, not losing skill in the dci off season. but what i found in this group of people transcends colorguard, and marching band itself. college has brought many challenges, but hanging out with these people (until perfectly reasonable hours of the night) keeps me going and keeps me smiling. they keep me from being a little dorm hermit, and i appreciate and love endlessly for that alone. i’m so happy i got to share something as dear to my heart as lucas oil with you guys, i can’t wait for the rest of this year with you 💙

graduation and last concerts!
transferring was the hardest decision i’ve made in my entire life. and at times, i regretted it. and sometimes, i couldn’t have been happier.there were hundreds of ups and downs, but here i am, on the other side. if you asked me 4 years ago if id make it, id say no. heck, if you asked me one year ago, i still would’ve said no. even 6 months ago. but, here i am, on the other side. this wouldn’t have been possible without my friends and family. ESPECIALLY, the choir and band staff at rosemount high school, who took me in without a second thought and supported me the whole way through. ESPECIALLY. all of my friends in ✨the lawyers✨who became my rock as the school year progressed. thanks high school, i’ll miss you.

wow. second season in a row got me reflecting frfr…
this season was special. when i came into the season, my only goal was to improve my movement abilities, i didn’t care about anything else. what i found here at River City Rhythm (@rcr_guard ) was an experience like no other. i found a family, a group of members and staff that supported me, even with the crazy antics i brought in with me 🥲. these people here at rcr became my best friends, even though it feels as if the season started yesterday. it’s april already, i just got home from wgi. we may not have gotten the finish we hoped for, but we had two amazing runs that made the past 6 months worth it. my high school guard career is over, and watching back old videos and old shows, ive improved quite a bit. brody from 2020 wouldn’t believe you if you said they’d become a BOA semifinalist, 2 time state solo champion, 2 time wgi semifinalist, a silver and bronze medal in WGI solo competition, and contracted at the drum corps they’ve been dreaming about since age 7, and everything in between.
this season wasn’t about that. it was about my kids at the Lakeville Cadets program. i took on an increased role this year as a director, and got to grow alongside this group of 1st-5th graders. every wednesday, my week got to be so much brighter because of these 11 kids, and i couldn’t be more thankful for them for their patience as i figure out how to be a coach, and for their willingness to try everything, even if it’s to not smack their friend with a pillow as hard.
that’s a wrap on the season. i wish i could jelly just one more time, even if it’s only for the Cadets.
i’ll always miss you my pumpkins (@dvwal45 @elijie_weijie @korra_23 ) we ate that pie whipped cream and all.
thank you 2025 season, for helping me remember why i do this. i’ll forever miss you. i wish it wasn’t over already…
