Dropped our oldest off at YSU this past week. 🐧❤️ Saying goodbye was so hard because she’s not just my daughter, she’s my best friend. 🥹 But thankfully, she’s not too far away and she found the absolute perfect roomie! This is only the beginning of an exciting new chapter for her.

Wanted to share a life update with friends and family….

After five years as the Director of Special Education for Girard School District, Greg has made the decision to step away from administration and return to where his heart has always been….the classroom.

This wasn't an easy decision or one that typically happens once someone moves into administration, but sometimes you just have to prioritize happiness over everything else. The last five years have brought many successes and opportunities but also more stress, pressure, and challenges than most people will ever know. We watched him give everything he had to support the students and families who depended on him, carrying burdens that many never saw (or could even fathom) and often sacrificing his own balance and well-being in the process. After a lot of thought and reflection, he knew it was time for a change that would bring more balance, peace, and purpose to his professional life.

This fall, he'll be taking over the Life Skills classroom at Rice Avenue Middle School, following the retirement of a beloved teacher. Anyone who knows Greg knows that working directly with students with special needs has always been his passion and where he belongs, and I truly can't think of a more perfect person for this role.

I am so proud of him for having the courage to make this change and choose what brings him joy. The students in his classroom are going to be incredibly lucky to have him.

Here's to the next chapter, Greg. ❤️

I’m not really sure how my Laney Lou is already heading to middle school, but here we are. So proud of this smart, funny, sweet girl and her endless straight A’s….but more proud of her nomination as a “darn nice kid”.
