I was looking through some folders of film photography and came across a group of photos of @siegfriedtieber from last year. This one in particular drew my attention. I enjoy looking at photos with the distance of time because I believe that we see them in a different way than at the moment of capture.

I don’t remember if I directed Siegfried to pose like this or if it was his own gesture, but there is a sincerity in this quiet moment that speaks to his kindness and thoughtfulness as an artist. Thank you, my friend, for allowing me to capture your spirit, if just for an instant. by @brookenopie

Two Young Texans, Watkins General Store & Country Cafe, Nevada, Texas 2006

I spent part of this weekend reminiscing with my first photography professor, Byrd Williams IV. He used to teach a summer documentary class every year and he always spoke to the ephemeral nature of people and places. I sometimes see this photo I took roughly 20 years ago and I wonder where these folks are today. by @brookenopie

I made lumen prints for the first time in a while at @theeclectika and it’s probably the first time I actually liked the results. by @brookenopie
