Self care isn’t the same as comfort! When we care for others it almost always comes with some kind of sacrifice. Why are we willing to sacrifice our comfort to care for others but we won’t do that for ourselves?

I am a pathetic runner. It’s actually hilarious how much I hate this. What I LOVE is how I’m showing up anyway. How I decided I wanted to do something to care for myself and I got out of my comfort zone to do it.

How many pounds of candies do you think they’re coming home with? #happyhalloween by @brookeredelle

Happy Halloween! 🎃 by @brookeredelle

More than business. More than networking.

At our @femaleforwardcollective_ May breakfast, Nicola Harris opened with a line that set the tone for the whole morning:

"Everything that I desire is here for me."

Then she took us somewhere most networking events never go: our nervous systems, the limiting beliefs we keep running into, and what it takes to move through to the other side.

Adera Angelucci of SPIRO Creative said it best: every woman in that room needed to hear it, herself included.

These are the conversations we make room for. How we lead ourselves matters as much as how we lead our businesses.

Thank you, @aderaangelucci @spiro_creative for sharing what you took home, and @nicola.c.harris, for the conversation.

Who should we pass the mic to next? Tag her below.

Tickets for our November 5 breakfast close Sunday, November 1, and there are only a few left. Grab yours and bring a friend.

Tickets in bio.

Having my kiddos cheering me on honestly got me to the finish line… and out of the car to the start. They are the best cheerleaders 📣 ♥️ by @brookeredelle

I broke my body 😆 I can finally move again after 2 Tylenols and an Advil, ice and a hot bath.

I CANT BELIEVE I JUST DID THAT!!!

10K on the record!!!! I had a lot of time to think while I was running and I realized one of the reasons I think I am loving this so much is because I’m terrible at it.

I actually love getting better at things and now I have a really great terrible time I will need to beat next time haha.

I feel like I just has a years worth of therapy for some reason 😆.

Anyways one more metal! One more base time set! One more really uncomfortable goal accomplished. Next up 1/2 marathon!! 😬

My friend gave me her spot in the Great Trek this weekend and I AM NOT READY!!! 😩😂🏃‍♀️

But apparently we’re doing this!

A big milestone is coming Saturday: 10K, BABY!! 🎉

Turns out, becoming a runner is HARD. And not even just physically.

I swear I face more internal resistance convincing myself to go for a run than I do with almost anything else in my life. The mental gymnastics I perform to avoid running could be an Olympic sport. 😂

And yet, for some reason, I REALLY want to be a runner.

I don’t know why I’ve decided this is the thing I need to prove to myself, but here we are.

And somehow, the universe keeps showing up to support this journey. Even if that support looks like a friend handing me a race entry I’m wildly unprepared for. 😂❤️

21.1K, I’m coming for you! 🏃‍♀️

Wish me luck this Saturday. I might need someone to come pick me up… or carry me 😆

Team day done right with a few of the Facilitators @fountainheadnetwork 🎃🍂

We swapped the boardroom for a pumpkin patch, grabbed lunch at The Patch Brewery, and yes, paper bags were involved. 😄 Between the laughs, we made time for internal training too, because learning together is better when you’re also having fun.

Here’s what I love about this: when you surround yourself with like-minded people, the work gets better and so does the day. Growth, trust, and good conversation happen when we make space for them.

So grateful to collaborate with people who bring their whole selves, big smiles and paper bag faces included.

Your team doesn’t need a big budget to build connection. It just needs intention.
