A year ago, my new salon was nothing but blank walls. Today, it’s Top 100 in the world. 🌎 @thebtcshow @behindthechair_oneshot @behindthechair_com

This time last year, I had just gotten the keys. Renovations were only beginning, and everything I had been working toward was still just taking shape.

By December 2025, I had expanded from my cute little pink 4-chair salon into the elevated, luxury 8-chair space I had dreamed of building.

And now, seeing Sleek recognized among some of the most beautiful salons in the world feels surreal.

This moment means so much more than beautiful decor. It represents vision, risk, growth, and believing in something before there was ever proof it would work.

Because sometimes the biggest dreams require you to move before you feel ready, invest before you feel certain, and trust the vision long before anyone else can see it.

From blank walls to Top 100 Salon Decor in the world.

The vision was never too big.

We just had to build it. ❤️

And thank you, @marybehindthechair , for continuing to create spaces where artists and salon owners get to dream this big. ✨

On Becoming 🤍

For a long time, I thought success was something you achieved.

A milestone.
A title.
A business.
An award.

Now I see it differently.

Success is who you become while building the life you’re called to create.

The businesses matter.

The goals matter.

The growth matters.

But what matters most to me is the impact I leave on the people along the way.

I believe leadership is about building people, not just businesses.

I believe confidence is one of the greatest gifts you can give someone.

I believe every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and capable of more than they imagined.

That’s what I stand for.

I’m building businesses with purpose, leading with heart, and becoming the kind of woman who leaves every person, every room, and every opportunity better than she found it.

Still becoming,

After the Chamber Awards last night, I found myself reflecting on the moments I’m most proud of in business.

And honestly… none of them were revenue milestones.

They weren’t awards.
They weren’t salon expansions.
They weren’t big launches.

They were the moments where I watched someone regain their confidence.

The team member who transformed her career and changed her life.

The client who came to me struggling and eventually no longer needed the solution she first came in for.

The people who trusted us during some of the hardest seasons of their lives.

For years, I thought I was building a salon.

But last night I realized I’ve been building something much bigger than that.

Confidence.
Opportunity.
Community.
Transformation.

Hair has simply been the vehicle.

My goal isn’t just to build a successful business…

It’s to create meaningful impact, raise the standard, and leave people better than I found them.

We’re just getting started. ❤️

20-year-old Brooke didn’t need permission to dream bigger. But there’s a lot I wish she’d known sooner.

To the stylist who thinks working harder is the answer to everything: you have to learn how to make your hard work pay you.

If your books are full but you can’t afford a day off, look at your pricing. If you want different opportunities, put yourself in rooms where you can learn. If you don’t understand something, ask. Staying quiet to look experienced costs you the chance to become experienced.

I want stylists to build careers they’re excited to keep doing. To earn well, have choices, and feel proud when someone asks what they do.

You’ve put so much into getting good at hair. Give yourself that same chance to get good at business. Let’s elevate this industry together 👐

What’s one thing you wish someone had told you when you started? Tell me in the comments

You can love doing hair and still want more from your career.

More income. More freedom. Clients who value your work. A room that challenges you to grow.

Wanting more doesn’t make you ungrateful. You’ve put so much into this craft. You’re allowed to want a career that gives back to you, too.

Today at Collège Boréal, I wanted students to see possibilities they could start working toward now.

And if you’ve been behind the chair for years, that applies to you, too.

Make your goals bigger than getting through another busy week. Put your work out there. Ask the questions. Learn from people who share what they know.

Choose one thing you want to change and take the first step this week.

You spend every day helping people feel confident. You deserve to feel that way about your future. 🤍

There is someone less qualified than you confidently going after the thing you’re still waiting to feel ready for.

Take the meeting. Apply for the award. Take the class. Approach the person. Start the business.

Give yourself a chance to find out how far you can go.

Confidence isn’t knowing you’ll succeed. It’s trusting yourself enough to find out.

If you’re a hairstylist dreaming of opening a salon, I want you to walk in with more than the keys. 🔑

I want you to know what your prices need to cover. What you can afford to pay your team. How you’ll pay yourself.

I started with one chair. Today, I’m building a team and a business that require a whole different level of me. 📈

I’ve made mistakes. Asked for help. Changed how I do things. And I’m still learning as I grow.

I’m sharing those lessons because you deserve more than “just go for it.” You deserve practical advice you can use before your savings and your name are on the line.

What part of salon ownership do you wish someone would explain honestly? Tell me below. 🖤 taken in Sudbury, Ontario by @brookesagleceo

BTC reminded me that the most visible parts of success are rarely the parts that build it.

The awards, the rooms, the people you meet, they’re incredible. But the real growth happens in the quieter moments: learning, leadership, strategy, failure, and choosing to keep building anyway.

I came home with a bigger vision for what I want to contribute to this industry.

Not just to be part of where it’s going, but to help shape it.

Your business will only grow as far as you do.

I’ve always been someone who shoots for the stars. Big goals have never scared me. If anything, they’ve always excited me.

But the older I get and the more I build, the more I realize that having a big vision is only one part of it.

Every new level has asked something different of me.

To communicate better.
To lead better.
To become more disciplined.
To stop avoiding the hard conversations.
To learn from the things I got wrong.
To become more self-aware.
To keep evolving even when growth feels uncomfortable.

Because eventually, you realize you can have the talent, the vision and the opportunity in the world, but if you don’t grow with what you’re building, you become the thing holding it back.

And I refuse to let that happen.

I’m proud of the businesses I’ve built, the rooms I’ve been invited into and the milestones I’ve reached.

But I think I’m even more proud of the woman I’ve had to become along the way.

And the best part?

I’m nowhere near done.

I’m not just building businesses. I’m building myself at the same time.
