Netherlands 2026 💙❤️💙
I’ve come to the conclusion that half of my heart is in the U.S. and half will always be in the Netherlands. 3 weeks flew by far too fast and I’m already thinking of a way to go back (or move 🤪) Thank you to our family and friends who made this trip so special and memorable. Every moment, whether go-karting, laser-tagging, dancing, sight-seeing, eating, voetbal-ing, or simply sitting around and talking is always more fun with y’all. Counting the minutes until next time 🫶🏼

~~~ On November 26th, 2020 we decided to date. Exactly 7 months later, on June 26th, 2021, we said “I do” to eternity. I wrote this song while we dated, about falling in love with you and knowing I wanted to be with you forever despite enduring long distance, despite a global pandemic, despite travel restrictions and visa’s and green cards.
But we got through it. And now, suddenly, it’s been 5 years.
5 years of laughing together and having crazy adventures, of conquering heaps of challenges and learning to keep Jehovah in front of us through it all.
So here’s to many more years of laughs and adventures and growing. Thank you for all you do for me, us, and Jehovah.

It’s crazy how much you can experience in less than a week. Like seeing your dearest childhood friend marry the love of her life, exploring a desert one day and then snow-capped mountains the next, driving 1,700 miles through sun and rain and snow, getting partially lost in a mountain-top forest full of giant sequoias, bears, and mountain lions, and all the while doing so with your best friend. ( @mvb812 … that’s u 😘 )

It was truly an amazing trip, I really fell in love with the diverse and ever-changing scenery of California. Jehovah’s creation never fails to leave me in awe 🤍 taken in California by @brookester_6

It had been almost exactly eight years since we’d been in Kiawah. And it had been nearly a year and a half since I’d seen my brother and Kat. This was a much needed reunion in a very special place that I missed dearly.

I’m especially happy I could finally share my nostalgia with Max and show him all these places I remember visiting and experiences I had throughout my childhood 🌴🐊🌊🌞

Here’s a poem I wrote about Kiawah 8 years ago:

🌴
There’s this place I would go to as a child
Where the sun always shined and the weather was mild

A place where birds flew gracious and free And the squirrels rummaged in a nearby tree

The ocean roared day and night
From the setting sun to the morning light

A place where you can be wrapped in the gentle breeze
And hear it circle through the leaning palm trees

Their fronds reached out and tickled the gables
Inspiring us to re-tell these stories from all angles

This is a place where paradise bursts into lifelike color
And your enjoyment can be found in a meek sand dollar

Where a smile is never far from your eyes
Because the beauty of which I speak contains no lies

A place frozen in time
Clocks will never chime

And we are content and disposed to remember
Because this childhood place
glows like an ember

Sandy toes and salt soaked hair
I promise you, nothing else will compare

Lagoons and cranes and alligators galore
I can barely keep myself from saying more

Perhaps one day you, too, will find yourself a place as this
A place where your joy grows and consumes you in bliss

I was, once again, debating posting a yearly recap. But as I was scrolling through the past twelve months of memories I couldn’t believe everything we experienced this year. (Which I’m realizing I tend to feel that way at the end of every year lol)
Lots of fun trips, memorable visits with friends and family, the unending joy of the special convention evening gathering, and a few of my favorite sunsets from 2024. Not to mention we ended this year by moving into a new lil’ house that has quickly become home. 🩷
