She climbed right on into the chariot this morning. 10kms done and we just chatted, looked at the trees, found all the birdies, bunnies, and deer along the way. We did bring her three favourite stuffies and snacks incase. It is truly so special to be able to include her in these activities with me 🫶🏼

Both Craig and I’s best childhood memories are camping with our families, so we wanted the same for Sutton. After many years of tent camping we thought it was time to finally get a little trailer as our ‘home away from home. Can’t wait for all the memories we make with it 🩷

I know it’s definitely possible to make these memories without a trailer, tenting but we have always dreamt of a little a-frame.

I can’t help it. Is there such thing as too many fleece? I won’t take yes for an answer. When you live somewhere with 8-9 months of cold weather, I don’t feel like you can ever have too many. Even summer round here you need a fleece at night. I swear I wear them all 😂

Hard is what makes it great. The video doesn’t even do the wind justice. I was able to stand for a couple seconds when the wind ‘settled a bit’ to take this video then was back to bracing myself low on the rocks 💨 Yet I was smiling all day. I just love it out here. Snow. Rain. Wind. Scree climbs. A reminder we can do hard things.

So grateful to have a healthy body that can take to places like this time and time again.

Pharaoh Peak - one of my favourite views in Banff National Park. It’s quite the adventure getting there but it’s worth every step. Even in the conditions we were given yesterday 🌲

But I am sure a little yoga and Pilates in my life would help. Especially as I’m getting older 😑

Long day on the trails in the mountains? Sign me upppp. Even through 100km/hr winds, snow, rain, trees falling down. But all smiles. What doesn’t kill ya makes ya stronger right? It’s not just about ratios of men vs women at the start line - which is pretty 50/50 these days I find, but speed. It’s so amazing seeing so many women crush it out there when it comes to men vs women performances 🔥

Or never 😑

We went and toured another day care last week and the paper work has been staring at me 👀 I know I’ve talked about this a few times now on here, but yes I am still on the fence and have yet to commit to anything.

As she has gotten older, she’s SO much busier and it’s become harder and harder for me to get everything done that I need to at home, in terms of my own work, shooting jobs, editing etc. getting to the mountains, arranging grandma to watch, and things around the house. The list goes on. Oh and she is next level attached to me so that’s another layer.

Since she was born she’s been along for the ride and I’ve just made it work. The potentiallll plan is to enroll her FT but only have her go a couple times a week. Because my work is SO random I have to have her go full-time because the days I’d bring her wouldn’t just be X, Y or Z. Impossible to plan.

She absolutely loved the daycare. All the toys. The play space both inside and out. Maybe they can even get her to eat more than fruit and pasta? They have such a great snack and lunch menu - with their own FT cooks 🧑‍🍳

I am a sub-teacher and I will go back this year, even though I don’t have to financially. Very sporadically in order to keep on with the district I was with before having my little one. If I didn’t go back they’d be pulling my email and I’d have to register etc and it gets a little complicated. Really I only have to do 10 days in a year to stay on 🫣

I know it’ll be good for us but I really am procrastinating that paper work 😭 She is my little bestie and we spend every day together.

Fall has officially arrived and we are back to layering up. Mornings are so chilly here in Alberta, though when the sun comes up the temperatures can quickly rise, so having my toddler in layers sure helps, then being able to remove layers as the temperatures rise @janandjul | AD

I always start with a baselayer. LOVING the new purple for my girl. Then a fleece vest and fleece pants over. A vest has always been a staple in our wardrobe, keeping her core warm without her overheating at the same time. Then a jacket, mittens, toque, fleece lined boots, and a neckwarmer for the even colder days.

Their new reversible sherpa jacket is great for fall around here given it’s easy to reverse, and have the sherpa facing in when it is colder out, or out when it warms up. There are a few different colours to choose from. I was tempted to do the green but swayed to the classic teddy bear oatmeal colour for both of us. The matching bear beanie is adorable!

If you have any questions about layering your little one for fall, be sure to drop a comment or send me a DM and I will be sure to help you out. Sutton has been wearing Jan and Jul since she was born and we have been so happy with it all. taken in Red Deer, Alberta by @brookewillson

One can hope. Just over here doing my best and spending as much time as we can outside, enjoying this beautiful back yard of ours ❤️

This campground closed October 5th, so this was us on October 4th. Going to miss all our tenting trips as the weather starts to cool 😢

Halloween is only a couple weeks away! 🎃 👻

Are you dressing up? Your kiddos? Family costume? If so let me know below what your costumes or plans are this year for it all👇🏼

It’s always a bit chilly around the holiday here, often times there is snow on the ground so having Sutton in merino wool will help ❄️ @letsgoiksplor

Last year she was a mushroom wearing a red base-layer set from them and this year she’s going to be wearing yellow 👀 Any ideas on what she is going to be?

We had so much fun dressing up a couple days ago creating this little video in the yard for some Halloween inspiration! The leaves are already starting to disappear since 🍂 🍁

I’ve always loved mornings. Waking up before the ‘rest of the world’. It is quiet. I feel like I’m able to accomplish so much and then still have an entire day ahead being able to focus on my little family.

I make my coffee. Sit for 15 minutes. Get ready for my run, usually it is outside when my husband is home and weather is good though grateful for my home gym when he’s away and when weather isn’t great. It’s usually an hourish then get ready for the day.

Currently my toddler has been on a great streak of sleeping 7:45-7:15/7:30 am, which is a blessing. So we get her up and read books for a bit before coming downstairs to start the day 🫶🏼 taken in Red Deer, Alberta by @brookewillson
