Meet Chica, the newest girlie in our PetSmart cat room, and honestly, she’s kind of a big deal.

This gorgeous 1-year-old tortie is sweet, snuggly, and ready to be someone’s whole world. Her love language? Quality time. Her favorite hobby? Getting attention! Her dream job? Your tiny, adorable shadow who follows you around like you’re the main character.

Chica could thrive with a feline bestie or be perfectly happy as your one and only. Either way, she’s ready to settle in, steal your heart, and make herself right at home.

She’s spayed, microchipped, treated for fleas and parasites, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. The girl has her bags packed and is ready for her forever-home era.

So if your couch feels a little empty, your camera roll needs more cat pictures, or you’ve been waiting for a sign to adopt a tortie, this is it.

🐾 MEET SAPPHIRE — OUR BEAUTIFUL LITTLE TUXEDO GIRL! 🖤🤍
Sapphire is a gorgeous 2 year old girl who was surrendered to NYC Animal Care Centers (ACC) by her previous owner, who no longer had enough time to care for her. Now she’s looking for a forever home where she’ll get all the love and attention she deserves. ❤️
She may still look like a kitten, but she’s a smart little lady with a big personality!

Sapphire is incredibly intelligent, very chatty and even knows her own name! Call her and she’ll come running to you.

She’s affectionate, loving and absolutely adores being petted, especially those irresistible neck scratches. Her favorite things include Churu treats, chasing wand toys and most importantly, curling up next to her favorite human at night. 🥰

This little sweetheart has so much love to give, but she would prefer to be the only cat in the household, where she can enjoy all the attention and be someone’s one and only princess. 👑

[Watch till the end!] A few weeks ago, you all rallied to support Ashford, our gruff, toothless boy who had survived so much — years of hunger on the street, eye infections, severe dental disease, FIV, and now also respiratory issues.

And we have news…

After a 2-weeks course of antibiotics, Ashford’s cough subsided. An echocardiogram told us his heart murmur was benign. And an eye exam revealed that he’s been blind in one eye since before his rescue.

And then we got even bigger news!

His foster could not let him go. That’s right — Ashford is home! We were overjoyed when @k.h__ asked us if she could adopt him since she could no longer imagine her life without her orange shadow. The answer was a resounding “yes.”

Meet new BFFs Chit Chat and Dill! 💬 🌿

A week ago these two cuties hadn’t even met yet, and now they’re wrestling, playing, and snuggling it up. And both are up for adoption at @brooklynanimalaction.

Chit Chat and Dill are boys, 9 weeks old, and healthy. They can be adopted together or separately.

*Note: If you apply to adopt just one of them, you must already have another kitten or young cat, as growing kittens should always have a playmate so they don’t develop behavioral issues we often see in single kittens.

Chit Chat (tabby) was found alone in a box outside a grocery store. Dill (black) was rescued behind a building in Crown Heights after neighbors had taken the other kittens inside.

This week and weekends trapping what we thought were part of a TNR project turned into two dumped adult males and two 4 month old siblings who deserve a chance at an indoor life. Buster, the orange kitty just showed up at the caretakers house the day our rescuer went to trap a few cats from the colony she’s been working on, the caretaker has never seen him before so definitely a recent dumped cat. He meows nonstop which shows us he was an indoor cat who is confused. Fall and Autumn just showed themselves this week after we had trapped their mom 2 months ago and she was lactating. They are babies who deserve a shot at the good indoor life. They were just put in a large cage and are scared but have shown no aggression. Playpen will be provided along with complete support and tips on how to socialize them. If you can only take one that’s fine as long as you have a friendly cat at home to help them learn to be friendly. And lastly, Dawson, trapped this morning in a well known feral colony known for friendly cats being abandoned. In. He definitely is not feral and the rescuer has pet him right away. He will be vetted tomorrow then ready for a foster. All of these kitties are with their rescuer and need fosters to free up her cages. Rescue will be at a halt until fosters are found. Mitts is looking for a forever home 🤍🐾
Mitts is a special boy with extra toes and an extra-large heart. This handsome polydactyl loves being around his people and will happily follow you from room to room just to keep you company.
He’s curious, playful and full of adorable little quirks. Mitts loves watching birds from the window, patiently waiting by his toys for someone to play with him and believe it or not he is obsessed with the weather forecast. ☁️📺 As soon as he hears the weather forecaster’s voice, he comes running to the TV to watch the moving clouds and maps.
When playtime is over, Mitts is all about the cuddles. He loves head rubs, lounging beside you on the couch, and simply being near his favorite people. He is a gentle, sweet soul who will make you smile every single day.
