POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I couldn’t be more excited to be featured on The Portrait System Podcast with @nikkiclosser today. Talking to Nikki felt like chatting to an old friend - we could have gone on and on about business, life, motherhood, partnerships… This podcast specifically focuses on how I love giving clients an amazing experience, which also leads to solid bookings and repeat clients without the need to be “salesy” or pay for marketing. I also touch on the ins and outs of the boudoir events I started doing, which a lot of my photographer friends have asked about. I’d love for you all to listen and let me know your thoughts! Link here and in my stories. https://art19.com/shows/the-portrait-system-podcast

Big thank you to @theportraitsystem for the feature, to @makeupkweenk for making me feel my best on what can only be described as a terrible hair day and to @whitneywelshimerstudio for the headshot of my dreams. by @brooklynboudoir

What does it take to feel good about how you look in midlife, when nothing works like it used to?

This is the question I am so excited to answer in tomorrow’s live panel, Energizing Your Look: From Mirror to Camera.

Join me and 4 of our incredible experts from The Style Evolution Series: Ilise Harris, Dr. Keira Barr, Stephanie Bordas and Tracy Gold.

If you look in the mirror and don’t love what you see, or you avoid photos at all costs, you’re not alone.

Come be in the room with women asking the same questions. And experts who have answers.

If you’ve already signed up for the series, the Zoom link is in your inbox.

If you have not yet signed up for the Style Evolution series, do that at the link in bio.

If your camera roll is full of everyone but you, this one’s for you.

As we age, our style keeps evolving. We figure out what suits us. We stop buying things to please anyone else. We finally dress like OURSELVES.

And yet, right around the same time, we quietly step out of the frame. We wave the camera away. We offer to take the photo instead of be in it.

It isn’t vanity that keeps us out. It’s waiting. Waiting to feel ready, and waiting to look like someone we used to be.

But I’m here to tell you: the version of you standing in front of your mirror right now is worth remembering.

Swipe for a little homework assignment from me. It takes 30 seconds, and I want to hear how it goes.

I’ll be talking about how to start feeling more confident in front of the camera at Style Evolution Series next week. Link in bio to join (it’s free!)

Nobody’s talking about all the changes we go through in midlife.

Our bodies. Our roles. Our whole sense of who we are. And somewhere in the middle of it, we stopped recognizing ourselves in the mirror.

That’s exactly what we’re talking about in The Style Evolution, a free series built around energizing your look so you feel alive in your clothes.

We’re covering:

How to dress when your body’s changed
Simple makeup tweaks for your midlife face
…and I’m talking about how to feel more confident in front of the camera

There are 14 speakers sharing their expertise (!) and I am just so looking forward to shaking some things up in myself (and helping other women do the same).

If you’ve ever cringed at a photo of yourself, I get it. Sometimes it’s not easy to look at ourselves and see all the changes we’re going through in midlife.

This is exactly why I sat down with award-winning photographer Stephanie Bordas for The Style Evolution. I knew she’d have sound advice for feeling more confident on camera.

We talked about so much, starting with practical tips like flattering angles and the distance you need from the camera to look most like yourself. (I didn’t realize how much the lens can distort our view!)

But what I love most is how she reframes the whole idea of being photogenic. It’s not just about how you look, it’s about your relationship with the camera. And once you understand a few easy things about how cameras work, you’re going to take better pictures.

Stephanie is one of 14 experts in The Style Evolution, my free online salon series, where we talk about what it takes to energize your look so you feel alive in your clothes.

We start October 5th, and you can register for free at the link in my bio!

Unretouched isn’t the scary version. It’s the true one. 🖤

Most of us spend years avoiding a clear look at ourselves. The no-filter, no-forgiving-angle, nothing-smoothed-out version. We brace for it like it’s going to hurt.

Here’s what ten years of this work has taught me: you don’t have to love everything you see.

But when you actually look — really look — you usually end up loving a little more of it than you expected. Not because anything changed. Because you finally showed up for the truth instead of flinching from it.

That’s the whole practice. See yourself clearly. Then decide what you think.
