Andantino in C Minor from 12 Leçons Progressives pour 2 guitares from Méthode complète pour guitare, Op. 241 by Ferdinando Carulli (1770-1841)
Gracie Pearsall @gracietheeworld & Matt Kaplan @mkguitar

The duets from Carulli’s famous Op. 241 Method are essential study for guitarists interested in chamber music and ensemble playing. This piece features beautiful lyricism, call-and-response playing, and exciting dynamic changes. Congratulations, Gracie, on a job well done with this one!

Melody from Album for the Young Op. 68 No.1 by Robert Schumann arr. Emilio Pujol | Ben Lueders & Matt Kaplan, guitars

This classic piece by Schumann is standard repertoire for piano students. Emilio Pujol transcribes it beautifully in his method book, Escuela Razonada de la Guitarra Vol. II. Transcribed to E Major from C it works out to be a great study for guitar in melodic playing, reading in higher positions, and shifting. Great job, Ben!

Spanish Composer José Ferrer was known for his charming salon pieces. His Trois Mélodies Op. 42 is an excellent collection of pieces that showcases his lyricism & romanticism, while showcasing the guitars capabilities. Andrew Wang plays Julia Florida by Agustín Barrios Mangoré

Julia Florida by Barrios, the great Paraguayan classical guitarist and composer, is a must-learn for any classical guitarist. This barcarolle requires a delicate touch and an ear for Romantic phrasing, and Andrew handles it beautifully. Congrats to Andrew on a wonderful performance!

I’m excited to announce the addition of classical guitarist Daniel Moreno @danielmoreno_music to Brooklyn Classical Guitar Studio! Over the past few weeks, Daniel has been an incredible presence at the studio while subbing for me while abroad, and I’m grateful for the musicianship, care, and professionalism he brought to the students. I’m looking forward to continuing to collaborate with him in different ways moving forward 🎸

About Daniel:
Native of New York City and of Colombian origin, Daniel Moreno is a guitarist, lutenist, and teacher. He understands music as a tool to elevate and influence others positively, performing and playing in churches, libraries, schools, community centers, homes, and concert halls.

His performances have taken him throughout North America and Europe, and he is the recipient of the Fellowship Award of the Lanciano International Guitar Festival 2024. Among his most recent concerts include a performance as a faculty member for the The New York Guitar Seminar at The Americas Society, The Young Musicians Forum Concert Series in New York, the Trenton Arts Concert Series at Princeton University, and international guitar festivals and concert series such as Corde di la Primavera and Musico Paideia in Rome, Italy. He has performed in prestigious venues such as Opera America, the Morgan Library, New York City Ethical Society, and First Fridays at the Frick Collection.

A graduate of Adelphi University and the Mannes College of Music at The New School of New York, he studied guitar with William Zito and Stephan Leonard; composition and guitar with Frederic Hand and Michael Newman. He has participated in masterclasses with world-renowned guitarists such as Leo Brouwer, Sharon Isbin, Rene Izquierdo and Lukas Kuropaczewski.
Daniel teaches guitar, ensemble, and music theory at the Vienna Music School of and D’Al Maestro School in New York. In his continued effort to bring music and education to underserved communities, Daniel has collaborated with the non-profit organization El Círculo de la Hispanidad, where he directs a guitar ensemble and teaches group lessons for beginners and adults. #classicalguitar #guitarlessons #brooklyn #NYC taken in Brooklyn, New York by @brooklynclassicalguitar
